Did you buy the boat second hand? It looks like there is some nonstandard hardware in there. This may have been a pre existing issue that you just discovered.

Ouch @Jbaref2 any idea how that happened? Did the boat get hit or hit something while on the trailer? There was A guy parting out a boat a few months back. I wonder if he or another used parts dealer would have the controls. As for the cables, I think we have guys who have replaced them with teleflex cables (which are oem) but at a much lower price.

Yeah I'm gonna name this boat problem child .... I have now clue what happened to the boat but I need replacement parts prayers and an asprin

Some have replaced the factory shifter with Gaffrig throttles. There is a used set on EBay for $300 http://m.ebay.com/itm/Gaffrig-Shifter-Throttle-/201617966593

But I still think you should remove the throttles and see what can be done to repair the mount. Perhaps have a new mounting plate welded on.

Also try calling greatlakesskipper...they dont have one on their website, but they sometimes have stuff that isn't listed. That binnacle looks like it saw a lot of salt water....

Murf I don't think they are. Most non-jet throttle controls are only throttle controls with a tilt button. Jet boat throttles include a gate control cable that outboards etc have no need for.

EDIT---Murf is correct...ignore my statement above! Apparently too hung over to think clearly this morning! (but it was fun last night! LOL)

Outboards have a shifter cable.

Outboards should have a throttle and shifter cable. I'm sure the inside workings may differ in means of travel distance and possibly cable ends but the actual housing might be the same and can be swapped for 1/5 of the cost.

Look for a parts breakdown and compare the internals and housing.

Forgot all about the transmission in them! I stand corrected!

The Gaffrig throttles rock.... Just sayin.

I believe that SeaStar / TeleFlex is the manufacturer of our throttles. This throttle may be a possible solution for you http://www.savinglots.com/lotprod.asp?item=CH7840P

I have sent an email to SeaStar asking about it.

SeaStar / Teleflex has confirmed that they are not the manufacturer of our throttles.

They have confirmed that the CH7840P is their newest dual throttle control and will work fine in our boats. I have seen it priced between $317 and $400.

You can find a description and dimensions in http://www.seastarsolutions.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/mcda6-ch7800.pdf

@Jbaref2, I replaced my reverse cables today and noticed that the mounts on the throttle are bolted on. I do not see any part number for the mount but it is replaceable separately from the throttle.
