Crazy Wake Surf day in San Diego

We went out on Mission bay San Diego at 6am
We were joined at 8am by Pro Skim Boarder Austin Keen and some photographers in the boat.
I had more fun watching than riding.

I've been going out on some Salt Water boats here in SanDiego.
I'm really liking the water.
Gonna sell my X46 and get something like that and SS or Coastal Series.
Water is to close not to go out.

He was on a 50/50 Tubing rope/bungee cord tied to the lower tow ring
The end he held had the bungee Half to prevent slinging into the boat

How does it work? Once you pull him up, you slow down and he slingshots passed?

Pretty much.
Except we never pass Surf Speed.
The bungee stretch as he is coming up out of the water.
As soon as he is up. BooM!!

Damn I was like that sure looks like Austin Keen with that hair flying around lol. That guy can skim and surf so good. I like seeing him skim out from land and into a boats wake in some of the videos I've watched.

Ok after seeing this I really need some help. How do I set up parental controls so my son can not see any videos that involve bungee cord and surfboards? Because if he ever sees anything like that first video I am never going to hear the end of it.

I thought about what might work to keep the bungee from snapping in the boat.

30 foot lead line with 15 foot bungee,

Carabiner a boat Fender(bumper) right where the 2 lines connect.

The fender would provide resistance when the shorter bungee snap towards the boat.
The 30 foot lead line would help with the margin of error.

I am certain this would improve the safety for everyone in the boat.

Fender would also provide a visible reference and some flotation for the two lines.
Basically these 2 components merged together

These boat waves we work on so hard are just a Toy to him.
The dude can ride anything, wave means little or nothing to him.

We went out for Pizza and beers after, very humble guy I must say.
Lives an extremely frugal life at that.
