Drill bits for subwoofer 10" hole

Dewalt hole saw is like a drill with a bit that cuts sideways. I clamped a spacer down that came with the speaker and used it as the guide.

Don't forget the trick of running the hole saw in reverse till you get at least through the gelcoat. That is if you use a hole saw.

I think you must have used a bit for the Dewalt Cut-Out tool or a router bit. Both would work well. It sounds like the combination with the spacer made it an easy job.

When I cut my 2 10" subs in my AR, I started with a Jig Saw and it didnt work great. Then I remembered I had a smooth blade for my sawzall that is smooth and used for it for cutting Metal Lav walls. So I tried it and it worked awesome!
Good Luck!

You are correct....I'll blame serious jet lag! LOL

Dewalt cut out tool! Looks like the below....very useful for all sorts of hole making!

I used an adjustable drill bit to install cup holders. I made several test holes into cardboard to get the exact fit, then I used painters tape, said a long prayer, held my breath and cut the hole. ;)

This one cuts up to 5". Possibly there's one out there that would cut larger holes.

Those things are scary! I cut myself pretty bad when it jumped. I only use those as a very last resort. I'd use a jig saw with a metal blade.
