would you guys recommend flushing the engines after use on fresh water? I only boat at the lake and was wondering, thanks.

I usually don't. I do start the boat briefly out of the water to blow everything out. Our lakes in Arkansas are extremely clear and clean though.

That's why I got to do, start it and goose it a bit. Thanks

I flush after every weekend. After some problems I had with my old I/O, my mechanic suggested that even though it is fresh water it still has algae, debris, and crap in it the can cause problems and build up over time. To me, it takes a little time, but worth it to take care of those engines!

15 Years of lake jetboating and I never flush afterwards. If we ever boated on a lake that was that filthy...perhaps....but who'd want to? Salt water use...that is something else entirely....but fresh water....really don't see it doing much....but everyone has their routines....

I agree. But never hurts to do it every once in while

I just did it because I'm going to be away for a week. After I shut off the water I just goosed it a bit to clear some of the water.
