Well I'm very excited to release my new product and this is a Jetboaters, net exclusive you will not find this price anywhere else. Today i unveil to you the Robert843 spiral shore spike. Dont spend $40-$80 on a shore spike that also requires you to carry a mallet to help insert into the ground. My product is half the price and requires no mallet and no assembly required as well. Just back into your favorite beach spot step out and screw my 18 inch spike into the ground by hand tie off and enjoy your day. I know what your think man this thing sounds great no way it could be cheaper the a slide anchor shore pike and you are correct I probably should charge more the the $79 retail price of that product but this week only I'm offer the Robert843 spiral shore spike for the unheard of price of $19.99 with free shipping! Wait there is more I know you are thinking more how an that be possible well I have lost my mind if you order here through Jetboaters.net we will add a second robert843 spiral shore spike for FREE! Now if there is a strong current you can tie off both sides of your boat to prevent sway. Quantities are limited order fast as this is first come first serve!!!

Oh the fun I have. So I have never backed onto a beach I always beach bow first but today I knew I was going to have 2 70 year old people on the boat and thought it would be nice to try backing in as I knew the were not going to be able to use the bow ladder. Needless to say I did not have a shore spike so while in the garage I happened to find an old spiral pet stake so figured heck we can try it. I was very surprised the island we visit has very small beach and usually a lot of traffic coming by but to my surprise it held all day. I tossed the box anchor off the front about 25 feet out from the beach reversed back and walked ashore and screwed it into the sand and tied a line off on it. I'm sure the shore spikes are great but I can buy this thing at Walmart for $3.00 and it doesn't weigh 10#'s nor do i need to drag a mallet around with me. I'm not saying this product is more secure then a purpose built shore spike but I always cringed at the price of those things.

I gather it held pretty well? Was there much current or wind?

Not only that but it also serves as a party tool for uncorking wine! Genius!:p

Just don't forget to screw it back into the ground to secure the boat after popping open a few bottles :D

and here i just bought a new shore spike last week

It held great. I did not have to reset or readjust it at all over 4 hours. The wind was light today, There is a current there as its a tidal zone so the current does push and pull with the tides and that section of that river dumps into the ICW near there as well. Probably at least 40 boats passed throwing wakes and it never broke free. Do I think it would hold on 20 mph wind day with a 4-5 mph current probably not if screwing it into sand but I wouldn't know till I tried. Thinking about picking a second one up to tie both side of the boat to keep it from the little bit of drifting left to right the boat did as that beach get busy with boats pulling up.

I tried one of those and didn't have any success with it...wave motion caused it to pull out and not hold well at all... plus, all friends looked at me like I was an idiot when I got it out to use. Now I have a Danforth anchor for the rear and it holds like a champ

So you're saying its not the size of the tool, but the motion of the ocean?

I agree, these spiral spikes work great. I use 2 heavy duty epoxy coated ones from Amazon. They're small and cost me $10

I'm not a fan of the shore spike or screws. Had one and sold it to a member here. I use a danforth and never have an issue unless I'm trying to anchor on asphalt. However, great price point for those who are looking for a spike/screw solution.
