*Fixed* Neither motor will turn over

My buddy's boat won't start. Power is good, but neither motor will turn over. Throttle is in idle, throttle kill switch is good, but neither will turn over. We cheek the fuses on the back wall and all are good. Where else should we look? The boat is an 08 SX230.

The clean out tray is the only set of kill switches that terminates both the starter and ignition. That is the first place to look for a boat that won't "click", turn over, start, or run. If it is closed and locked, then try having someone stand on it while you start one or two. If you get anything, it is those switches. Battery is another good suspect. The background on this would help, like last time used, how it was running, last time charged, age of batteries, etc.

Make sure the back hatch to the clean outs is closed and make contact to the two kill switches back there.

Another thing to check would be all of the battery cables. Make sure that each engines positive and grounds are hooked up properly.

As a backup...Try Jumpinging it from your tow vehicle

My guess is also the clean out hatch pressure switches.

FIXED- pulled the fuse on the wall by the battery. Fuse was good. We put it back in and now it starts like a champ. It must of been loose.

Thanks for the help. I remember there used to be an engine no start trouble shooting tree. I couldn't find it, but when I do I'm saving it to my phone for future use. I'll post it if I find it.

That fuse by the battery is accessories only. Don't think it would prevent starting at all. Probably walked on the swim deck and that did it!
