Hello everyone,
So glad to have found this forum. We are bringing home our new AR240 Saturday.... so excited. Any last minute advice for the newbie would be appreciated! What did you wish you knew when you first got your boat? Looking forward to seeing all of you here (and out on the water)

Congratulations and welcome!!

Number 1 trick I learned on the forum.... The reverse move for cleaning out intakes.

Hello everyone, What did you wish you knew when you first got your boat? Looking forward to seeing all of you here (and out on the water)
First, welcome to a fun/informative forum. To answer your question, 1. Know the procedure for flushing the engines...engine on first then turn on water. Then on the other end, turn water off first, then shut off engine. I never had an issue, but I would hate to see someone do it wrong and hydrolock a perfectly good engine. And secondly, practice manuvering the boat while launching/landing in cross-winds/currents conditions. You may find a few mods. to add to either your trailer or boat useful to reduce those "Oh Crap moments". On the lighter side, you will find a lot of like minded people here who will love to show you how to spend your mod. money.
Again:Welcome:Aboard, have fun.

Congrats on the new boat, and WELCOME aboard. . . . Be cautioned: when asking for advice here, keep your hand on your wallet. We LOVE spending other peoples money. . . Hahahaha. Enjoy!

Thanks so much!!! I appreciate your input. Spend away I know it's known as a money pit, lol! Never had a jet boat before. Question: is there a list of options or things the boat is supposed to come with, like a window sticker for a car? I'd hate to forget to get something I am supposed to get or need. :)

Welcome and congrats on the new boat. I don’t have any recent boat purchase experience so i wouldn’t be able to help you with what items should be included with the boat.

The above flushing and reverse maneuver advice is a great start. Also, at the beginning, never approach anything faster than you’re willing to hit it. These boats are extremely maneuaverable however there is a big up front learning curve. :)

glad to have you on board, congratulations on your new boat, if you haven't noticed the FAQ tab at the top of the page be sure to browse through the tips,

never go faster than your willing to hit something and when your docking and it's all going wrong resist the urge to give it more throttle, it's better to drift into the dock than slam into it trying to recover from a bad spot, boating requires patience!

Thanks so much everyone!! Brought her home today. Hope I see you out on the water!
