Welcome aboard Jeff. We could use a little of that Florida sunshine up this way.

Welcome!

Glad to have you aboard, Jeff:Welcome:

You can appreciate this, Yesterday afternoon I was headed back to St Pete, driving toward the Howard franklin when the weather service put out an alert on the radio warning of water spouts headed to Macdill A F B via the bay.
The sky was black and the wind was really strong.
I was stopped to make the turn on to the approach to the bridge from Florida av.
While waiting for the light, I was reaching around the back of my s u v looking for any impromptu flotation device I could use JUST IN CASE!
I found some foam and a cloth shopping bag placed it in the front seat next to me and headed across the bridge.
Into the storm. ONLY A BOATER would do that LOL.

I was home and saw the warning come across the TV. Glad you made it with no problems...also very impressed with your quick thinking!!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!!!

Welcome Jeff! I am in Tampa also and usually boat out of Dunedin and anchor up at 3 Rooker Island. Where do you usually boat?

Thanks Lester, we were actually boating out of Tarpon Springs after we bought our 192 last August. We spent most of our time at 3 Rooker. We were at a marina at the end of the Anclote and it was about a 25 min ride to get out into the gulf. When we bought our 242 last month we switched marinas and now boat out of St. Pete because it was closer to friends. We really liked that area though and will definitely miss hanging out up there.

Welcome and please send a little of that Fl warmth towards us up north so we can enjoy are boats also.
