How cool is this thing!? http://www.onean.com/

Will be interesting to see how these do once they are released. There isn't any mention of how long the battery lasts, but I can't imagine it's more than 20-30 mins. Even so that looks like a ton of fun.

That looks cool! Now I want one!

Converted to US dollars the boards start at $3,900 and extra batteries are $1,300 each. I think these boards would do really well in the rental market. Over time I could see them replacing wake surfing and possibly wake boarding as sports. The amount of energy required is way more reasonable than burning huge amounts of fuel in an overloaded boat to make a surf wave.

The battery has a 32AH capacity. If the run time is 30 minutes and you had two batteries plus a 100 AH deep cycle battery you could likely run them for two hours by recharging twice from the deep cycle. While out on the water. Having three batteries would probably keep them going all the time from a dock with AC power.

21 MPH?!! No thank you. The main reason I love surfing is because 9 mph does not hurt when you fall.

Looks like a blast....interesting that I didn't see a PFD in that video....and if was running the rapids at 21mph I would have a helmet on too!

@RightStuff

Really?

Really?

Do you have any idea of what just happened when I showed that to my wife?

I need one of those flashy things from Men In Black.

Is there a way to make posts disappear? Maybe I can convince her it was a dream...

Wait....help me understand your problem here....you show a cool motorized toy to your wife and she wants it....and you are complaining???? Quick get a divorce to I marry her and go broke with the most toys!!!!

I just saw one of these at an outdoor flea market, only it was from the 60s and had a gas engine built into it. Guess this is the new iteration.

Deny, deny, deny...

"What are you talking about honey? A motorized surf board!?!? Sounds crazy, I have no idea what you are talking about... here have another one. ;)

I found about a dozen of similar things about 10 years ago in an old glass factory. Surprisingly, still have pics.

YES!!!!! That's it. Do you own these?

Nah. Looking back, I wish I woulda jumped on em, but I passed. Coulda had the whole lot for a song. The ones not pictured were still new in the box (although still weathered pretty badly). Old auto glass warehouse with the windows busted out. Cold and damp up north. They didn't fare well.

guy wanted $3k for it and said there were very few survivors out there.

That's really cool, bare in mind you wake board at around 18mph and mono ski around 25mph, so the speeds great.

I do not plan to be an early adopter but I could see owning one next summer. Rana and the kids were really excited when they watched the video.

I hope they make it to the states, based on what I see they are based in Spain (near Bilbao). SO because of that I'm not sure if that will make it more difficult to get one, they said on their FB page that they are starting to ship pre-orders in Q4 this year.

Either way I'm going to keep an eye on this thing, looks like a blast to play with.

Oh I hear you....but it's kinda like the potato chip commercial, betcha can't BUY just one!

I'd have to get a minimum of two with extra batteries, etc. that could get pricey. I can barely keep up with the toys I have right now, besides, I'm thinking about buying a plane.
