I am today, the rear side window is busted out so it'll be hard to hide that! This sucks Waylon.
Make sure you notify the rental company they used also. I doubt they reported it to them.
Not of the road, we didn't stop on the road I saw the exit and headed for it. I wrote in my report where it was and lanes and all.Oh, fault will be assigned. Just not by the police (meaning they won't issue a citation). Insurance companies will hash it out.
Did you get pictures of where it happened? The ending lane, etc.?
I don't understand the no reporting stuff, I would think they would require a police report be done.Am I the only guy that completed a crash report for every incidence of 2 motor vehicles colliding? I don't understand this no report stuff at all! And then when a shopping cart hits a parked car its a damage to vehicle report.... Always reports!
LOL...Yeah, hard to hide that......and they had a noisy/hot ride back. I'd just hate for them to play it off like something else happened and not say it was a collision with another vehicle. Did they take the insurance when they rented it?I am today, the rear side window is busted out so it'll be hard to hide that!
But that's the point. A scratched bumper could be $1k after the body shop is done with it. Car parts and refinish work is so expensive that a $1000 limit pretty much includes everything. I don't know, I always asked myself (would j want my parents to have a report on this?)In North Carolina if it isn't $1000.00 worth of damage (road side estimate) the insurance companies don't require a report.. especially if it is clear cut who is at fault like a lane ending... or hitting someone in the back...
That's what I mentioned to the officer, just the cover is $800, fender on the trailer will put it over $1K, then you have the scratch and rub rail repair. He considered it minor and went on his way.But that's the point. A scratched bumper could be $1k after the body shop is done with it.
