It’s my bday and picking up 2019 AR195!

Hey everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Mike and I live in Santa Fe Texas, about 15 miles from Galveston. Today is my birthday, turned 33, and today at 11 I will be going to test ride and pickup my 2019 AR195. I have 3 kids, 8/5/2 and they love being on a boat so decided now was the time.

I have learned so much from this site the few days I’m been on it and hope I can give back in some
Way.

Goal for boat is family/friend fun, however, when it’s just me and the boys I want it to be able to open her up here and there. End goal is to be able to get it to 60mph as long as it doesn’t hinder the family fine and tune pulling etc.

I’m sure I’ll be make new thread in future getting advice on performance parts. But from what I’ve seen maptuner x, intercooler/bov, open element intake, L13 and I should be getting up there.

Thanks for looking and my thread and I’ll accept and and all advice/tips tricks, suggestions etc.

Welcome, you will also need to swap out the stock impeller or repitch to get you to 60 MPH. Let the mods and spending begin.

Thanks everyone! We will be taking our first family outing tomorrow once the kids are out of school.

We have been brain storming boat names and since the kids like “how to train your dragon” movies we are thinking of naming it Night Fury. It’s fitting since it’s black but we will see.

The test drive was great, it’s been years since I’ve been on a jet boat and they have come so far it’s crazy. Even stock it’s pretty controllable once you figure out the delay so you aren’t over correcting. And boy this thing will stop on a dime if need be if coming into dock to fast etc.

Enjoy it I have the same one, different color! Get a new bow roller (stoltz) If you will be trailering a lot. Seadek is also a nice add, ditch the carpet when you can!

Also looking at covers because of course the day I bring it home everyone is cutting grass on my street so now it’s all dusty inside lol. It will eventually be in my garage or shop I just have to do some re arranging. Seadek looks amazing and will be on the list for sure.

I’ve been so crazy about mine this first year that once it’s in the garage I still put the shipping cover over it hopefully the dealer gave you that that’s a great cover for the garage and dust but I wouldn’t trailer with that one. Yamaha sports plaza has some good deals on the black trailering/mooring covers I think.

Yea they gave me the shipping cover, I will use that for the time being. I definitely want to get a better cover though, I don’t mind spending the money for a Yamaha brand if it’s actually worth it. Haven’t really looked too much to know what all is out there yet though.

I had the Yamaha cover on my 192. It was great especially with the ratchet mechanism. Mine lasted almost 3 years. Only complaint is the cost. Good luck with your new boat. Great times await you.

My 2 cents, the black Yamaha one is amazing. So far so good on my end, while 795+ dollars It does it’s job, keeps everything in the boat, cushions etc, looks great and I love the ratcheting system. We were also able to put it on the boat at the dock with access to only one side of the boat. Given the redesign for 2019 I don’t think there are a lot of options out there currently.
