Was looking at the 212x and decided to pull the trigger on an AR240. Just went and grabbed a Stoltz ULT-4 Bow Roller, can't believe they put that thing on there.

Anyways, any tips/advice would be great!

A couple things really sold me:

1) The extra room! The 212 was roomy, but the ability to carry three more people was super nice.
2) The hinged seats. Might not seem like a big deal, but the 212 didn't have hinged seats. Kind of a sloppy design to me. Hinges are cheap!
3) The swim deck. Much more roomy on the 240.
4) The dashboard. The 240 has a legit dash, simple and easy to use.

Congrats and welcome....you will love your 24. Love the color scheme on the AR240. I was leaning that way, but ended up with the Limited. They are all great boats!

Congratulations! That boat looks bada$$ just sitting on the trailer.

A few suggestions...

1. Clear your schedule, this will consume all of you time either with time on the boat, or mods. The more you're on here, the less time you'll have for anything else!

2. Prepare to have lots of new friends!

3. Hold on! Lots of fun in your future!

Seriously tho, you're off to a great start with the bow roller. Quick and easy stuff I did when I first got our 242...

Locks for the clean out plugs.
Nerf balls for the clean outs in case of a blow out.
Storage options for your closet.
2nd bilge pump with separate thru hull.
Boat Bling Hot Sauce and the rest of their products.
Keel guard.
Lots of ice.... ;)

Enjoy your new boat, congratulations again!

:Welcome:

@Sam S. - Beautiful new toy...I mean boat. You'll have a blast! The family will thoroughly enjoy it, for years to come!

Take your time breaking it in and learning how a jet boat operates, especially with that articulating keel.

I fully agree with @JDSCHMOO on the mod suggestions with the addition of some trailer guide poles. Those and the bow handles I installed are the two mods that we use EVERY time we take ours out.

Welcome, have fun, and be safe out there!

Very simply, get 2 Nerf footballs and place them in the holes above your clean out plugs. In the unlikely event of a blow out, it'll cushion the blow and hopefully prevent damage to the hatch. Bonus is you have footballs to toss around when anchored.

Worked for me when I had a blow out, pretty sure it was user error, didn't make sure my plug was secured.

Having said that, you should also consider a bilge alarm in the event you do blow a plug, it'll flood your engine compartment pretty quickly. Again, rare, but it happens, happened to me. Hence the second bilge pump installed as well.

@Bennie
You place a Nerf ball on top of the plug. In the event of a plug blowing out ...it will stop the plug from destroying the hinged lid.:winkingthumbsup"

Great looking boat! We went to buy the same AR240 last Friday and when we arrived at the dealer a deposit had been placed on it. So Saturday we ended up with a 242LS. Now we have 2 Jets in the Driveway.... Our SX230 needs a new home.. :(

Nice boat(s) @Dwain Oliver !! You'll enjoy that 242LS.

Highly recommend bow handles to work with the front ladder. We use them every outing.

Congrats, you're going to love her!!! I always liked those graphics on the AR's.
Here is what I suggest and most of it is gleaned from this awesome forum.
Must haves:
Name her immediately and put the name on her.
Stoltz Bow roller (looks like you already did this)
Charge the new batteries properly, yourself.
Grease the trailer bearings yourself to be sure.
I'd move that trailer spare tire to the other side which will give you more room on the jack side.
Keel Guard
Bow handles
Bow cleat(s) installed under hatch
Matching Sea Deck piece for engine step area from Jetboatpilot
Spare drain plug
Spare Kill switch lanyard (universal type with multiple tips even better so you can help others if needed)
Plasti dipped anchor and chain, and at least 200' of rope.
Nice to haves:
Cobra fins and fangs
Upgraded speakers and amp (I went with Wetsounds speakers and amp, and a JL Audio Sub and amp)
Swim deck matching cushions from Jetboatpilot
Chrome fuel cap in place of the plastic one
Additional matching battery for stereo in parallel with factory house battery or.. (I went with 2 Exide XMC-31 MEGACYCLE AGM-200's for 400 total Amp hours, and sold the Interstate Deep cycle)
