Afternoon, been lurking around this site for awhile and enjoy the forum. I live in Orlando, FL and can't wait to get back out on the water. I currently have a 2013 cobalt 200 but looking to switch. I have no issue with my current boat but have that itch to change. I have been looking at the 212x but was wondering, since the new design on the 242 series last year do you all think the 21 series will follow suit in 2016? I know predicting the future is a crap shoot but I'm new to the Yamaha scene and don't know their history for model changes. Decisions decisions!

I wouldn't think the 21' & 19' will get a redesign until 2017

The Yamaha dealer meeting will be in August. They will certainly be announcing updates. Most years they are color changes and small tweaks.

Thanks for greetings and replies, just like most people I don't want to kick myself in the butt. Wanted to see if anyone had any insider info. From everything I've read can't say buying a new one or new to me is a bad decision it's just the new design has gotten good reviews, especially the keel system. Seeing that Yamaha released the new CC they probably put all their focus on that project.

@Ljtoler ... welcome aboard!! Just my 2 cents. I have been a Yamaha owner for just 3 years but I have never regretted that decision. These are great boats with some wonderful features. Plus, you have the added bonus of this fantastic forum!!

Welcome to the site. I just spent the day at the Miami International Boat show and Yamaha was all over, they had everything there to look at. Boats, Motors, Accessories and more. You were even able to take a ride on the 242 and the 240. Even though I did not ask that specific question, there were several comments on changing the designs of the smaller boats; however no one would be specific what the changes were. As history has it Yamaha has never been one for changing what is working best for them. SO I would only look for color and accessory changes.

Good luck in your search, I changed in 2005 from a Sea Ray to a Yami and I do not regret it one bit.

Appreciate the compliments, it's a good boat and it rides smooth but I guess for a lack of a better term it's too refined for me. My wife loves it and doesn't know why I want to get another boat. I have two kids, one 3 the other is 10, and I feel with the versatility of the Yamaha it would suit us better. Plus I like what I seen so far with the Yamaha community. Showed her the details for the Bimini trip and I think that help persuade her
