Anyone ever heard of Marine Mat or have the product on there boat? Looks very similar to Seadek but they have a snap in version.

Snap in SeaDek is a terrible idea.

When it is glued to the floor nothing gets under it. Cleaning is simply a matter of hosing or pressure washing it.

If it snaps down you have to remove the flooring to clean under it and clean both sides.

Does anyone have experience with any brand of the foam mat and dogs? That's a huge concern of mine when switching over.

Only one season with boat but our dog did not damage our seadek. 50 lb Terrier Shepard mix. He was on the boat for almost every outing and loves running back and forth from swim deck to anchor locker.

We love having him on board. When anyone is in the water that is his focus even when someone is wakeboarding. Not only do we love having him on the boat but he also loves being on it.

My 2 boxers (64 & 72 lbs) are on the boat a couple of times a year and have never damaged the SeaDek or seat cushions.

I'm not sure removable marine mat (seadek) is a good idea either....there are 2 positives for it:
  1. You can take it out completely if you want to fish etc
  2. You can replace sections of it if it gets damaged

Has any of you guys ever heard of it? I was recommended it by my dealership because they have a pattern for us with the glastron line of jet boats. Seadek as of now doesn't have anything for the GT207.http://www.marinemat.net/

I personally kind of like the idea that I could snap it out. I think it would be easier to clean and as Julian said if a piece would get damaged it's easy to remove. No more sticky 3M to deal with.

If one wanted to glue it down it could easily be done. Remove snaps and Dap Contact cement. I am looking forward to my Seadek install on my 230Wake. I have done many Ski's and my Older LS2000 with hydroturf. Also you can remove glued mats, it just takes more time. Replacing one section is OK if you store boat inside, but if you have heavy weather mats you will tell the difference easy and it may not look up to your liking after wards.

I believe (I could be wrong), but the marine mat is the same product Yamaha uses in several of their 2017 higher trim models.

My Yeti 50 damaged the seadek on my swim platform so I could see a large dog possibly causing some damage.

i did research it previously but unfortunately there were no dealers in my area. They have both snap in and stick down models available and the quality from the reviews seem to be up to par. i called and they seemed pretty knowledgeable and helpful with all of my questions.

The problem is -- you will get mold underneath.
I also found the VERY LARGE piece of carpeting covering almost the entire cockpit floor in my 2016 Yamaha 240 difficult to remove and wash without damaging it. With an even stiffer mat, a piece that size would be impossible. I would at least try to make sure the snap-on pieces are manegable size.
Just my 0.02. I think Yamaha made a big mistake switching to snap-on mats in 2017.

I think the removable Seamat is preferable (an upgrade) to removable carpeting, so in that regard it is an improvement/upgrade. I agree that for many, permanently installed mat would be preferable.

Personally I feel that a $1,000 price reduction and a boat with no flooring would be vastly preferable to carpet or Seamat from the factory.

How does his claws do on the seats? I want to take my dog out but so scared of him tearing my seats with this claws. I have stained concrete at home so his paws stay short but can be sharp tho.

Towels/blankets cover are a must when we take our three wild Polish Lowland Sheepdogs with us, to terrorize the lake.

He has not damaged anything on our previous boat or this one including the upholstery. He does get pretty excited when he sees loons or when we approach an area with other people or dogs so I feel pretty good that he is not doing regular harm to anything. Some dog hair does get trapped at the edge of the seadeck but that is the worst of it. Not having him on the boat is not an option for the wife for so it is not an option for me either but I would have him even if things got damaged from time to time. He is a member of the family and the way he looks out for us all is awesome. Just make sure he sees you shake my hand if he has not met you before.

Haha very nice. Sounds like my dog. My dog is so hyper it would end being a babysitting trip for me most of the time. But if I do take him just him and me, he doesn't get as excited as he is not around other folks. I will have to think on this one. But would love the idea of taking him with me. Was going to when he was a puppy few years ago but the Vet convinced me not to as they thought it would not be a good idea for his health.

@swatski I'm sure you get alot of dog hair in your boat too then? Hahaha. Two decent size hairy dogs. But do those dogs shed alot? I wouldn't think so really.
