I bought one of those double bright LED fish tank lights for my aquarium a couple of years ago to save money and heat from the big fluorescents. I also liked that it had night mode where it would use blue LEDs to light the tank at night.

Long story short, I woke up the other morning and it was strobing. Must have driven the fish crazy. :) So I called Marineland to see if they had any ideas on how to fix it. After a quick check they said it was just out of warranty. At this point I was thinking the call was about to end but instead the customer service rep said if you want to send the light to us we will send you back a brand new one.

This is the way companies stand behind their products and build lifetime loyalty.

Speaking of Aquarium lights. I decided on this one. I can't remember why, but remember looking at the marineland ones too. After a year and a half of use I'm happy with it.

Had the same thing happen with my Sharkk Bluetooth keyboard. The latch that holds the iPad arm up and connects it to the keyboard broke. I called them and they asked for the Amazon order number. I provided that and noticed it was well over a year since I bought it....they emailed back saying a replacement was in the mail, and keep the old one!

I just use the one that came with my set. I should ask Bob if he wants an LED light!4583850931_60735325a7.jpg

I just have African Cichlids in a 55 so no need for the really high end reef systems. Tank was set up for live feeding Oscars so it has tons of filtration. 350 GPH canister filter and 2 300 GPH power heads. I had 3 Oscars, a tiger, a red and an albino, all 3 got big enough to touch the front and back of the tank at the same time. I used to throw 200 feeders in there every Friday and my 3 Oscars would turn them into glitter within a minute or two. There was always at least one feeder that was smart enough to hide but then 2 minutes later would forget where he was and just swim out to the middle of the tank.

I get busy traveling for work and the tank starts to get nasty and I start thinking about giving it away. Luckily the African cichlids love the ph and hardness of my well water so a quick vacuum and a water change and I am right back in the hobby.

I made my own for my reef tank. A lot cheaper and I can add/minus components whenever I want to. Been 2 years with no issues. :)
