I'm 99.9% sure I know what this little guy is. But the .1% is bugging me soooo is the "little guy" sitting atop the pump casing - filled with sealant - a water outlet to create a rooster tail when this pump unit is installed on a Waverunner? :cool:IMG_20201022_124133.jpg
 
You got it.....rooster tail hole for when the pump is on a wave runner. Can also be used as a connection point for a washdown pump in a boat (but many complain that at idle the flow is low - and many boats no longer have the ability to rev the engines without moving the buckets - like my old SX230 would allow- via the black button at the pivot point of the throttles).
 
you have it I hate those on P W C's and immediately disable them
 
I put a shutoff valve on them cause when running in the winter the water spray is fing cold and when its breezy it blows all over you when moving slow.
My wife likes hers on in warm weather
