I know there's some place on the web site about greasing something in the jet drive and I can't seem to find it. It's time to uncover the boat and get it ready for spring. Thanks

Search intermediate bearing

Or cone bearing

Looks like @itsdgm has you covered! The FAQ maintenance section number 6 has a link to the cone bearing lubrication. You should also pull back the rubber connecting rod covers , put a little grease on all the rods (at the pumps), then slide the rubber covers back over the rods.

Humm. I was thinking the intermediate shaft. But glad you added the rear cone @Julian. That should keep @Marvin willis busy

Okay I thought @Marvin willis was referring to greasing the main bearing housing. The fitting is located at the back of the engine. Just a pump or two from the old grease gun at the beginning of each season.

I wasn't aware of these other issues @itsdgm and @Julian are talking about. Time for me to get reading up.

But here's a pic Marvin where the zerk Fitting is.

@Marvin willis we've probably given you more than you were looking for! Sorry! The two things I do at the start of each season is to pump grease into the fitting shown above by @ToddW850 and to wipe grease on the linkages as I described above. The cone housing is a longer term maintenance item.

Last year I did pull off the tube at the pump (attached to the zerk fitting shown above) so that I could pump grease through the tube to make sure none had hardened in there. The result was some yellowish grease came out initially.

We need to remind everyone not to add too much grease to the zerk at the back of the engine. It is a debated topic but you can damage the seal by over greasing. I believe the manual specifies a volume of grease. Others apply grease until the hose firms up. That is what I did with a lean toward under greasing. Hopefully an experienced member can contribute better advice here.

Any recommendations for greasing a brand new boat, or is it good to go for the summer from the factory?

Your new boat should leave the dealer 100% ready to go.

image.jpg So I uncovered the boat and my only problems are my speedo needle is on the "a" at the end of Yamaha until I turn my key on. And what the heck is this in the pic

I believe it is a very dirty compass.

Oh one more thing. The right throttle is stiff. Any way to oil or grease? I hate to adjust the screw bc I had it perfect last summer

I know the outside demension. What's the dimension of the hole? Also if it's dirt what do I clean it with. I can even scratch it

I assume you can remove the fasteners from below.
