IMG_1312.JPG So this forum is a lot more active and has more creative people on it than the Tidewater forum I'm on. I have the simple cup holder on my dash, this isn't the best pictureI'll get a better one. But I'm looking for ideas to make it taller or something else without looking bad. The tumbler cups (I.e. RTIC, Yeti) and water bottles just flop and fall out of it. I need to raise it maybe two inches. It is just a simple aluminum holder with two mounting points. Let me hear your ideas! It can be seen in the bottom right side of picture. I am also considering removing and drilling mounting two cup holders with drains on it also.

I would drill below that and add recessed drained cup holders below the cup holder pictured this would give you your extra height and still look good. Then you would have something holding you drink at the bottom and those bars would hold the middle of the bottle or cup.

I was thinking as I have a few of these already I was going to add to the sides also.

I wonder if @JetBoatPilot has a bracket that would sit higher and hold the Yeti better?

@robert843 's idea is a good one too....put cupholder(s) under the rings (might be a tight fit to get 2 in there).

Another idea would be to get some stainless bushings and some longer bolts and just raise up the existing holder.

Is the flat top part too far to reach? Would one of JBPs organizers fit up there?

@Julian thanks. I thought about the bushings but not sure I would like the look since the base is not round. It is flat in front of the windshield, I am going to order a piece of starboard to go across and screw under from the console and maybe do an organizer and a Sea Dek mat to hold stuff. I'm also planning on running two USB chargers that show the battery voltage someone posted on here.

Here is a better pic of the current holder but leaning towards just putting two good cupholders in.

Drop two ss holders with drains and also keep the two rings and you should get about 6" of depth. That should get you though 2-4 with no problem

We could either cut some shims to raise the height or you could go all out and do a custom console organizer like this.

I like that design with a bottom lip to hold everything along with the added storage and cup holders.

I would have to work with you for a custom build though for my boat.

@2nazt call me after the 12th and I will talk with you about your options.
