Alright, I got the tower mod done to fit the boat in garage, 2nd battery installed, and the boat buckles on. Now I have a probably really dumb question, I have seen it done both ways in pictures. Do you mount/is it better to mount the VeVe guides with the guide bar sitting on top of the trailer rail or underneath it?

Just seems really close to the hull when on top of the rail. Still lower than the bunks barely, think I might mount underneath just for piece of mind

I mounted mine under. With the longer guides (I believe mine were 60"), they were plenty tall enough. Under just seemed to be a tidier install.

I mounted mine on top. There is no way to make contact with the hull, the whole assembly ends up under the bunk. No issues since install 3 years ago.

I mounted mine below....probably can go in either spot, just felt it worked better below.

I just installed my VeVe guides the other day. I mounted them on top of the rail but seem very close to the hull. I think I'm going to move them below the rail so I don't have to worry about it.

I put my ve-ve's on top. It did seem closer to the hull, but I haven't had any issues during recovery. Instructions state to mount them on top too.

My thinking for mounting on top fwiw. As mentioned above, instructions say to. Guide poles 4"+ higher. I start out from a gravel/dirt road. I figured that mounting under the rail in back of the tire, the horizontal surface would be subject to collecting tire kick up of dirt/mud AND I did not want to block off the taillight/side marker, with the bend to the verticle pole, at any angle of viewing. Just my personal preference, they work either way depending on your trailer.

This discussion can go on an on. Zipper's trailer is completely different than mine, so your results will vary with your trailer type and make. Mine doesn't have that step and mine sit right in front of the lights, under the trailer. My instructions made no mention of top or bottom! LOL

Your results may vary!

Right, thanks for the input. My trailer is also different and it won't block the light. Thank you everyone who responded, have a great day

Oops, my memory was incorrect. Pulled a photo, shows I installed above, not below. Apologies.
