The water temp was that high? Usually never crosses 70. On my app it was show circa 65 out of Munising. I want to go, but none of the family wants to swim in that temp. water. I really want to take them up there, so I am working the long game.... :)

The air temp was 80, not sure what the water was. We were swimming in it and playing around on the rock formations. I would call the water “ refreshing“ wasn’t too cold. It’s just to be expected that it is a bit chilly, however the hot white sand makes up for it! I’m sure you and your family would enjoy the scenery. Every year it seems like it gets busier with tourists.

Made the leap from dock exploring to an actual ride?
Not quite yet, still warming him up. This was with the engines running at the dock; he stayed pretty chill. We’re scoping out cat life jackets then plan to take him for a ride :D

@906Tony I remember you telling us about this place, and these pics are awesome! That looks like it's 30-45 minutes from you, is that about right? That's a really cool place to see.
Hey Jeff
Yeah it’s about an hour drive from my house to Munising. The cruise we do is about 18 miles up the shoreline then turn around. There are several white sand beaches and waterfalls to hangout at. Another amazing highlight is being able to see down in twenty feet of water. This whole month is a great oppertunity To hit somewhat calm waters out there. You should definitely come check it out!

We went in August, 2020 with our old boat (1973 Glastron V156) and it was amazing! By August, the water is between 65 and 70 and the biting flies are gone. We stayed in a cabin in Au Train that I found on exploringthenorth.com. Along with Pictured Rocks, there are several shipwrecks that are easy to find and in pretty shallow water, reasonable for snorkeling. I want to do it again with the new boat.

I’m definitely checking out the shipwrecks next time I go up there! Just need to figure out their locations.

Just a nice morning on the lake with my wife and me. Hit the ramp before 9 a.m. on Lake Berryessa here in Northern California. First time we've been out this season because, well, there's just not much water anywhere. Many of the lakes here are now not boatable. Those that are, are resorting to makeshift alternate ramps necessitated by 50+ feet lower water levels.

But today was nice. 83 degree water temperature, 85 degree ambient mid-morning. Boat ran flawlessly--48 mph fully fueled and loaded (has hit 51 mph on 50 degree water temp days with just me aboard). Floated around a cove and had some snacks, shared piloting duties with her, and generally enjoyed some tunes and a summer morning. Back by noon.

The outing was about as benign as the picture, which is exactly what we were looking for.Berryessa 8-2-22.jpeg

Has Beeryessa been low as well? Doesn’t seem all that bad from the pic
