We really should have an overheating diagnostic thread! Anyone what to take a shot at writing one? There are a few things that always get covered:
  • Intake screens
  • Thermostat stuck
  • Bad temp sensor(s)
  • Clogged head due to sand/salt
  • There was an old problem with the Y plastic tube not being formed right and still having plastic inside the Y restricting water flow
  • Hoses kinked
  • ?

OK...go for it! Once you get started I'm sure you'll have lots of input. Perhaps break it down into how do you diagnose the problem from getting an alarm to finding the source of the problem.

Having a laser temp sensor is helpful (to know if you even are over temp!)
