We just joined the JetBoaters Family, we bought a gently used 2007 AR210. We had it inspected and the only thing that turned up was a worn port side steering cable. The owner agreed to pay for it and I'm trying to keep him from getting raked over the coals at the local dealer. They want $515 to replace the cable, $200 for the cable and 3 hours of labor. I've been looking for the part and found the steering cable assembly for $150. It looks like that is two cables. I asked the dealer and they said the price quoted ($200) was for one cable. Any one with experience replacing the cables? I'd like to buy the assembly and at least save a little money and have the other cable on hand if it too becomes worn. Thanks!

I would tell the seller that the dealer wants $515 to replace the single cable then ask him to pay for replacment steering and reverse cables which will be around $360 that you will install yourself. Then buy some of your favorite beverage and invite a friend or your wife to help install them. You will get to know your boat better, improve the feel of the steering and shifting and not have to worry about cable breaks for a long time to come.

http://Partspak.com will give you the best price, least expensive and fastest shipping. Check the prices at http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com then call Partspak and ask them to price match. Doing so saved me $50 in shipping on my cover.

@Bruce I've looked a couple of times on partspak to find a yamaha boats parts diagram by year and model....am I blind and not seeing it...or does it not exist?
I have not found it either so I am going with does not exist. My experience is that they do well on beating the lowest price, offering the least expensive shipping and getting the part to me quickly.

In searching for part numbers I feel like http://www.yamahapartshouse.com/oemparts/#/c/yamaha_sport_boat/parts has the most recent data on Yamaha parts.

Using the steering cable F0R-U1470-10-00 as a comparison http://yamahasportsplaza.com is $132.99 with $19.20 shipping ($152.19), http://yamahapartshouse.com is $133.94 pus $25.59 shipping ($159.53) and http://partspak.com is $142.99 plus $15.65 in shipping ($158.64). But I know that PartsPak will match YSP's $132.99 bringing the total with shipping down to $148.64. PartsPak's order system also tells me that the part will not ship from Yamaha's warehouse until next Wednesday and gives me other options for faster shipping which I used with the bearings for my jets when I decided to rebuild them before Bimini.

With my cover, YSP wanted $532.46 for the cover but their shipping was around $100. PartsPak matched the price and shipped for $27.16. Checking today I see that YSP has reduced the shipping to $29.94 I also notice that they are posting the likely shipping delay under the Add to Cart button. YSP must be reading our posts and being proactive about issues such as shipping. PartsPak has been excellent on a couple of recent orders but I am glad to see improvement at YSP.
