An interesting application for cheap FLIR cameras, but is this very practical? Sorry, this is an even better reason to NEVER use a debit card where you have to input a PIN. I always used my debit check card as a credit card. Then I just moved to credit cards.

Interesting to see that new camera... So my question is once you have someone's PIN, where could you use it without the physical card in your possession too?

That's a good video. Also keep in mind not to do smartphone app banking in a public place. They are not encrypted like a home PC wireless is and anyone with a certain scanner software can read your important info. Cam.

I can see the real threat being door codes. How easy is it to wait for someone to enter their code for a garage door opener and run up to grab the heat signature. Whamo! You have the key to someone's house.

It still amazes me with all the current technology why so much card fraud is about. I totally agree with using a Credit card as opposed to a Debt card, spend the banks money and not yours. I never use anything other than credit cards.
Cloning cards has never been so easy.

Yeah....you still have to have the card in hand to use the pin. The point is....just because your card has a pin doesn't mean they can't get that too. In Europe, having pins with cards has been the default for a while (with many cards anyway). And in addition, your card never leaves your possession with most places.....you don't give the card to the waiter....they come to your table, you stick your card in, enter your pin and tip and you are done.

I just found it interesting to see how easy it is to grab a PIN.

@Murf'n'surf - great point about the garage door code!
