I'm wondering which came first, the seat covers, or the toilet seat covers with that same material? ?

I think someone just had a ton of excess carpeting, and figured out a way to sell it off, and the idea turned out to be successful!

Funny, I paid pretty good money for those real sheepskin seat covers back in the day. They are comfortable.

In 1977, the natural color sheepskins made for bitchin bucket seat covers on my 1971 Pontiac LeMans. Perfect match to the fake sheepskin I used to cover the rear shelf (under the rear window) when I installed my Pioneer speakers! Not my car, but I did find this picture of an identical car on the internet (blue with a white vinyl top):

Yeah. Lodging sucks. I'm trying to look at a few days late Jan. I scored a great deal at Mountain Haus in Dec. but that's over. Think I'm going to have to stay out of the village a ways and use the free bus this time. I think you're off on the Epic price. At 20% off it was in the $800-$900 range. I got the Veteran pass for $450ish and 20% off.
We did the Epic local sorry for the confusion. Local is keystone , Breck, crested in Co with days at bc, vail ,pc

Lodging at Vail, yeah that's a rough one. Leadville is not a horrible drive if you have a 4x4, I'm sure you looked at Eagle. There's a hostel in Avon, if so inclined.

That’s a big NO from me supporting that freakazoid Zuckerfuck and his alternate reality. This is the downfall of civilization. The fact that people are actually paying real money for virtual “land” and NFT items is ludicrous and scary how far we have devolved. One idiot paid $450k to be Snoop Dog’s virtual neighbor in the Metaweirdoverse. How f’ing stupid can one be? FB is cancer enough as it is.

APC’s “Disillusioned” comes to mind when I hear or read about Meta junk ...

Dopamine
On dopamine
On dopamine
On dope

We have been overrun by our animal desire
Addicts of the immediate keep us obedient and unaware
Feeding this mutation, this Pavlovian despair

We've become
Disillusioned
So we run
Towards anything glimmering

Time to put the silicon obsession down
Take a look around, find a way in the silence
Lie supine away with your back to the ground
Dis and reconnect to the resonance now
You were never an island
Unique, voice among the many, in this choir
Tuning into each other, lift all higher

Willingly been rewired by the clever agents within
Looping our reflections, our obsessions draw us in
Fix and fixation, no sentience beyond

We've become
Disillusioned
So we dive like crows
Towards anything glittering

Time to put the silicon obsession down
Take a look around, find a way in the silence
Lie supine away with your back to the ground
Dis and reconnect to the resonance now

I work in information security and I see jobs posted from FB or Meta or whatever they're calling themselves. There's a handful of companies that I just couldn't bring myself to work for. That is one of them. Have a buddy that just recently moved to the bay area and got a position with FB. He's super excited so I didn't want to rain on his parade, but I'm not sure I could sell my soul to work for a company like that. I've worked for a major player in Silicon Valley my whole career, but that one is an ethical dumpster fire.

How do you like the Ooni? Which model is this? I thinking about the Ooni Koda 16" gas version for out new home.
Only used it twice so far, but I have been impressed with it's ability so far to put out good pizzas. Definitely has a bit of a learning curve. I have the Fyre 12, because I always have pellets on hand for the smoker (Traeger) and don't have a gas line where I was going to use this oven (ditched propane tanks a long time ago too). With the gas ones I bet they are easier to maintain the high heat needed, with the pellet fire (and probably with with wood burning ones too) you have to manage the fire to make sure it's super hot before putting pizzas in. Overall a lot of fun to have.

Just a few °s off on the positive side this morning.

Cold enough to form Lake Effect Snow Clouds over Malletts Bay and the Eastern side of the Lake.

Was that the diesel engine version?

No sir. That was a 1.8L 4 cyl. normally aspirated FI gas motor from VW. When I lived in Orlando, I pulled the motor and put in 10:1 cr pistons with larger bore bringing displacment to 1.9L. After decking the block I ended up with 10.5:1 cr and wired in a knock sensor ignition/distributer from a 1986 GTI. Had a lot of fun in that car in Florida after the build, even with no AC. Figured I went from the stock factory 90 hp to about 140hp with a few other mods.

2019 highlander hybrid came in with some weird electrical issues today, customer assumed it was under warranty. We find out its a salvage title when we run vin through the Toyota database.
After poking around we find this:
20220103_105253.jpg20220103_105238.jpg

They cut out every harness connector probably cause it was flooded and the connectors had corrosion. Even airbag wires spliced. Customers had no idea.

Just curious, what does a home made round coat compared to a store bought round?

So many variables to get apples to apples,
I can reload anything for about .20 a shell

If I buy 12ga it's about .40 a shell
if I buy 28ga or 410 it's about .72 a shell

That's if you can find it but more importantly if it's the type of ingredients you're looking for. We shoot lighter recoil shells, either less bb's or less powder but now if you're at the store you don't get to be choose and normally it's full load/high power, so reloading for us is as much about getting the type of shell we want and having the shells when we want them as much as saving money.

We normally shoot 100-150 shells each, each time we go,
last year we shot about 11,000 shells

Currently an odd buyers market for cars for sure. I usually buy new, leftover, vehicles in September at pretty step discounts. Not true this year. If you are lucky some new vehicles are selling at MSRP while others are selling at 20% over MSRP! Crazy thing is my 2020 Ram with 14K miles is worth more now than I paid 16 months ago!

We leased a vehicle three years ago and will buy it at the end of the lease at it stated value in the original contract. It is low milage and probably 5 or 6000 under todays price. [flag]
