Currently an odd buyers market for cars for sure. I usually buy new, leftover, vehicles in September at pretty step discounts. Not true this year. If you are lucky some new vehicles are selling at MSRP while others are selling at 20% over MSRP! Crazy thing is my 2020 Ram with 14K miles is worth more now than I paid 16 months ago!

We got our first 2022 Tundra in (non hybrid) is was pre sold at 75k which was marked up 15k over sticker.
It is an absolutely crazy inflated market.
2 years ago i got my 2020 tundra limited for 10k under sticker

I got a new 2015 Tundra SR5 in late 2015, had all the upgrades, rms/tires, running boards, factory painted fender flares, and some other goodies, for $40k, the sticker price was in the low 50k range . It now has 38k miles, and looks like it’s worth about what I paid for it right now.

The wife has a 4Runner, which isn't great on gas, and during the summer months she racks up the miles driving for her business.. I’ve been wanting to get her a gently used compact to use for work but in this market it just doesn't make sense.

I looked at a Ford Maverick this week with a window sticker of $27,180. The dealer put an addition $10,000 markup on it, making it $37,180. I guess they didn't want to sell it because there are so few around this area.

We hosted a small NYE gathering last night....
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

If you have not watched Ready Player One yet. GO WATCH IT NOW! The reason is that FB recently changed their company name to META. They are developing a META verse that makes a world just like Ready Player One! Some of the Virtual Reality tech that has come up in the most recent years is absolutely insane! I'm 20 and think it is nuts!

Here is a video on Meta's haptic gloves they are creating along with many other sensors and VR improving technologies that have come out! We are so close to having something that is so cool and but yet so dystopian. This will be such a great milestone for humanity. Too bad it'll quite possibly destroy us.

That’s a big NO from me supporting that freakazoid Zuckerfuck and his alternate reality. This is the downfall of civilization. The fact that people are actually paying real money for virtual “land” and NFT items is ludicrous and scary how far we have devolved. One idiot paid $450k to be Snoop Dog’s virtual neighbor in the Metaweirdoverse. How f’ing stupid can one be? FB is cancer enough as it is.

APC’s “Disillusioned” comes to mind when I hear or read about Meta junk ...

Dopamine
On dopamine
On dopamine
On dope

We have been overrun by our animal desire
Addicts of the immediate keep us obedient and unaware
Feeding this mutation, this Pavlovian despair

We've become
Disillusioned
So we run
Towards anything glimmering

Time to put the silicon obsession down
Take a look around, find a way in the silence
Lie supine away with your back to the ground
Dis and reconnect to the resonance now
You were never an island
Unique, voice among the many, in this choir
Tuning into each other, lift all higher

Dopamine
On dopamine
On dopamine
On dope

Willingly been rewired by the clever agents within
Looping our reflections, our obsessions draw us in
Fix and fixation, no sentience beyond

We've become
Disillusioned
So we dive like crows
Towards anything glittering

Time to put the silicon obsession down
Take a look around, find a way in the silence
Lie supine away with your back to the ground
Dis and reconnect to the resonance now
You were never an island
Unique voice among the many in this choir
Tuning into each other, lift all higher

I'm surprised they are still selling walk ups. I read that the Epic sales were up 66 % over last season. Last season. Doubled 2019 sales. Plus this season they lowered the Epic pass price to 640 ish. Lodging is what is stupid high. A place that we frequented many times before was 179 per night. That condo is completely booked for 469 per night on the low side.

Yeah. Lodging sucks. I'm trying to look at a few days late Jan. I scored a great deal at Mountain Haus in Dec. but that's over. Think I'm going to have to stay out of the village a ways and use the free bus this time. I think you're off on the Epic price. At 20% off it was in the $800-$900 range. I got the Veteran pass for $450ish and 20% off.

Found some old pics while cleaning out a new spot in the basement for Christmas stuff to live.

Me on my first bike. Somewhere around early 1983 in Roswell, NM.

I bought my first new car off the showroom floor in 1983. A red VW Rabbit GTI, $8600. I still have the car, needs some work, you still have the bike?

I'm wondering which came first, the seat covers, or the toilet seat covers with that same material? ?

I think someone just had a ton of excess carpeting, and figured out a way to sell it off, and the idea turned out to be successful!
