Ya, we had a pretty stiff North wind. Got up into the mid 60’s today. Beautiful day though, she had fun.

I'm kinda envious, in Southern Delaware, we had a high today of 54 degrees, rain, and a gale warning.

Good thing I have a ton of indoor projects to do.

I took my Mom and Aunt to an Indian Casino and gave them a few bucks to gamble with. When we met for dinner we found the buffet was closed for a private event and the steak house was booked so we ended up here. Cheaper for me but still a bummer as I was looking forward to a steak. 08FC7190-D140-416A-816B-67266A1146D8.jpeg

First run of the season, out to the island for drinks and the sunset over the lake!

I would not be happy if I was there and the buffet was closed for a private event.

I am not happy about it but I was hoping to eat at the steak house instead of the mass produced all we can eat buffet this time around being it’s for Mother’s Day. Price wise I could not be in a better situation. Dinner for the three of us, three burger combo meals was only “$49”, $21 from me after my Mom broke out her points card. Had I known better I would have taken them off the Casino grounds for dinner. Besides this place is packed, I had to park on the fourth floor of a five floor garage (it had the first available spots), they don’t care about what I think and as I suspected my Mom and Aunt don’t care about the food, they would rather be at a slot machine than I dining table.

fyi-the last time I was here a few months ago the buffet had been closed for almost two years due to the pandemic, they had plastic partitions every where and only half the slot machines were available. The pool and spa were also closed.

Adding insult to injury, when I went down to the pool and spa at eight I found that it had just closed. Still no complaints, the bed is great and the room is comped (my mom is a frequent flyer). Technically she is spending my inheritance on such trips but she is not out of control and it makes her happy. It was awesome to see her and my aunt at dinner yesterday they were excited/animated and could not stop grinning/smiling. Both said this trip was more fun since they didn’t have to fund it (my Brother and I did, ironically he had to work so couldn’t be here and between the two of us he likes to gamble, I don’t). I had the room to myself until about two in the morning.

I’m surprised I haven’t seen more of these stories given the mega drought being experienced by CA and other western states.

I was reading about lake Mead this morning.... Pretty interesting. Probably most from the Mob Days in Vegas.

Man, people that can do this type of work are amazing!

Started out with this ugliness from 2007

Cool little workshop the cabinet people had.

The refacing starts. That built in wall unit turned out amazing. Now I understand why it was $4k to make.

Our house it still like an episode of hoarders with everything pulled out and laid about.

Our master bath is coming along too. 64"x42" shower with a bench. Open shelving will go behind the wall of the shower in that open space.

Just washed her all up from being in the garage all season. About to head to the reservoir for the inaugural run of the year. Gonna be 87 here in Indianapolis. Quick 1.5 mile drive to the ramp for some much needed sunshine

Y'all have seen the grouse on our driveway, well here is another horny bird...This Snipe aka Woodcock is strutting his stuff just up the road from the grouse. He is in no hurry to get across. Taken from the truck.
