I've been in NY all my life and have never been to this very tourist place. I was in Brooklyn because I went to a friend's pizzeria "Brooklyn DOP". During the pandemic NY closed his gym down and he started making pizzas from his apartment and selling them. He is really into the details of the pizza and the source of his ingredients. He's since opened a pizzeria in Park slope and it's a very good pizza. Check it out if you're in NYC - it's not far from the brooklyn tourist areas. Dumbo, brooklyn bridge park, williamsburg etc

Looked like we had an incoming storm when I was leaving work, but it never rained. Nice to see out stop sign is still crooked from Ian when he rolled through last month.

I was fortunate enough to help my buddy with a kitchen remodel at one of his customers houses in Nantucket. Very cool place! We drove from Cleveland to Cape Cod in two box trucks in one day and caught the last car ferry to Nantucket. Very nice to see how the “pretty people” get to live ;)

Brrr in Tampa today

That pic alone makes me think that kind of boating it a lot more work and expense than I’m ready for. How long does it take to wash it? What are the launch and recovery fees?

Things are different in warmer areas where the water does not freeze. You can leave it in for years, with a barrier coat and anti fouling ablative below the waterline. People hire a diver to clean the hull. There is one fee for this service. It is called Winter haul out and storage. That service comes with a pressure wash of the hull to remove any growth and most zebra mussels. They then transfer the boat from the travelift to a yard trailer towed behind a tractor holding my boat cradle then they put the boat in it's spot. The Winter haul out and storage includes the launch in the Spring. I do all my own Winterizing of all the different systems within the boat. Their fees for this is ridiculous. The Winter haulout, storage and Spring launch fee is about $50/lf.

i didn’t even make the effort to go look into this area because I knew I would be disappointed.

i also saw a lot of young women wearing tight fitting very revealing clothes but couldn’t take or post any pics. In the Dave Chappels (sp?) words, “I was [ appalled and] disgusted, but I could not look away.”

Seriously, my Son and I agreed to send $1 each to the estate of the man who invented spandex for making the world a better place.
