Disappointing. 2020 RAM 1500 5.7l with 36k miles, manifolds cracked shortly after CPO warranty expired. First one is out $830. Have to bring it back to get the other one done.

Open a ticket with Chrysler corporate like I did with our GM. It went 800 miles out of warranty when the fuel pump control module stopped working. Working with the corporate warranty office, they reimbursed me 95% of my payment and gave me 30,000 GM reward points for the inconvenience. Doesn’t hurt to try and may give you some extra coin to show us another adventure your on! ?

I had a 2020 1500 and both of my exhaust manifolds had a crack in them around 60,000 miles and both were covered under the powertrain warranty.

Thats what people on the RAM forum are telling me. When I called RAM customer service about my leaking window, I mentioned the manifolds, and he didn't say they were covered. The guy was very rude so I'll go to the dealer and see what can be done.

I am guessing that the manifolds cracked prematurely because I am towing heavy weight and the cold temps up in NY. To come down to florida, I had the shrink wrap and the truck and boat loaded with my personal belongings. Probably was 8000lbs+. Wish I had a F250 with powerstroke

I have heard several people talk about the manifolds cracking. If you look on-line you can see it seems to start around 2011. Sometimes the bolts actually break. I have a 2015 and I think I may have a crack now since I can hear the tell-tell ticking noise.

that sucks.
quick look at ram forums shows it's a big prob. we have/had 3 recent ram 1500s in my fam circle that tow without that issue. seems like that's a simple enough part/function to eliminate the problem. like, at least fords cam phaser issue is a complex part doing complicated things. these types of 'known' probs sure cause a lot of hassle for consumers

Had a bit of an issue because I went to the dealer to look up my CPO warranty. "How many miles?" "36k" so she puts in 36k miles. No warranty information on CPO. Weird, I should have 7 years 100k powertrain warranty. Call the dealer in NY and they say "you can't enter 36k into DealerConnect or else it will only show the 36k factory powertrain warranty. it has to be more than 36k" so went back to the dealer and that worked.. They are starting to see my face a lot there so the manager got involved. They have the other manifold and told me to bring it in Monday. He's also going to request from Chrysler the back window and see if he can get it faster. Maybe get a rental car. Maybe can request reimbursement for the other manifold from chrysler. Looks like they're going to resolve this for me.

When I came back from Colombia the rear carpet was soaked and moldy. I put a replacement carpet and stilll the smell lingers a little. They recommend some machine to run 3 hours inside the truck. $125 at a detailer nearby. I just hope I can resolve all this and move on without further problems.. Just want to enjoy my time here in florida and lifes been getting in the way and making me crazy lol

Old carpet after many products, baking soda, vinegar, and steam cleaning.. I tried every recommendation I could find on Google. To the garbage..

You mean not everything I read on the internet is true? ?

If I had to guess, they're talking about an ozone generator to address the smell.

I use one for elimination of cigar odors from my car, and it's dead simple to operate.

Save yourself $55 (if buying the same one I have) and I think you'll enjoy having one at hand for whenever you want to freshen it up. Here's the exact one I bought:

Smells like the outdoors just after a hard rain shower. Thanks to that thing, nobody is even aware that I smoke in my car

195 yard Par 3. This does not happen enough….therefore the picture and inner celebration. IYKYK!!IMG_9955.jpeg

Great advice. I found 1 on amazon that will be here saturday. I'll let you know how it works out.

Some suggestions: use an extension cord through the window, and roll it up without pinching the cord, set it as close to the center of the car as possible (your center console, pointing towards the offensive area). When it's done, I start the car and set the HVAC controls to recirculate, and let it run for 15 minutes. When THAT bit is done, open everything up, doors, windows, sunroof... and let it air out for a few minutes, or else it may be a bit difficult to breathe. It doesn't affect me, but my wife can't handle it without airing out.

If it doesn't clear out with that first time, do it again after a day or two, but the 2 hour cycle will probably sort it out for you.

That's a great question. We had spent a few minutes cleaning the boat and were sitting in the back munching on snacks. I heard the bilge running and it sounded different. It was the secondary bilge that is mounted slightly higher than the stock bilge. Checked the switch on the dash and the OE had been turned off while someone wiped down the instruments. Then it hit me that I had not installed the plug. I was out with friends and no family who know the routine. I failed to consult my check list. Complete failure on my part but we laughed about my incompetence and made a happy memory. I think my neighbor found a gem of a girl. She was the first to offer to get in the water to put the plug in.
