We were out on Lake Havasu last weekend in my 2008 AR210 and whenever we went over a wake at speed that brought the boat just out of the water, both engines would immediately shut down. This happened three times and I have never encountered this issue before. Boat seemed to be running fine and a quick turn of the keys brought both engines back to life.

Has anyone else ever had this happen?

Maybe the switches in the clean out hatch? They shut down the engines if the hatch is opened, so maybe it wasn't latched or your switches loosened up a bit?

My money is on it being the switches on the clean out hatch. Also, check the helm kill switch. Or.....maybe your boat wasn't designed to fly! Lol

I would put my money on the clean out switches. If it is not that, it is some other switch that is momentarily losing contact from the momentum of the jump.

You can adjust the latches on the clean out hatch to make it fit more snug to where it does not lift, also check the switches to make sure they are secure/tight.

Or, if you're like me you need to replace the latch on the clean out hatch. I broke the tab off and never replaced. Door swings open if i start sucking air.

I had to replace both latches on the clean out hatch and the ski locker, must be a bad batch of latches back in 2008 when they made our boats.

I'm in for the the hatch being the culprit.
I've had it happen to me and was totally panicked since it was during our second ever outing.
I was sure the timing chain had broke or some other apocalypse. Nope, just the rear hatch was not latched so it would flap up during such a bump.

Mine was a blow out. Kinda forgot to put them back in. Yamaha reminded me.

If it's not the hatch latch look very closely at the plastic nuts holding the switches in place. Mine had a very fine crack in them allowing the switches to be pushes down out of adjustment. I theorized this was caused by letting the hatch slam fracturing the nut. I swapped the bottom plastic nut for the top. There is no force pushing the switches up only a downward force, from the hatch, pushing the switches down so the top nut needs to be able to hold the switch firmly. The bottom nut is not as critical.

Thank you all. I am sure that is the likely culprit. I had to replace the latching mechanism about a month ago and I actually intentionally made the latch a little looser than it had been because it was too difficult to latch the prior one before it broke. I'm confident that is now causing the issue. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
