Started mocking up some speaker rings

I've got double pods for my tower speakers so instead of doing single rings I thought I would play with it a bit. Took some fine tuning but I think the bottom ones will work. Put the Yamaha logo in the center. Now to get some acrylic and get them knocked out

it looks like you got the cnc program figured out i need to bring a case of your-favorite-malt-beverage over and see if we can knock out some 6x9 speaker 'rings' (not available in stores)

So, when is the ring milling, scupper grinding, and beer drinking party? My new scupper came yesterday and I don't know how I'm going to grind it to make it fit.

Sorry for the delay in responding. These are just mock ups I made in MDF. I did it on my CNC machine. The logo is carved in the surface and should light up differently than the rest of the ring and be quite apparent. I got some arcrylic in the mail so I'll try to cut them for real over the weekend. I left them a little big because I want to round over the outside edges with a round over bit.

What are your speaker grills like? Are they oval as well or do they have some other profile? Just thinking back to the old Jensen 6x9's I had back in the early 80's, the grills were more rectangular than oval.

My speakers are Polk Momo's and they are oval.

They still look like they have a little bit more meat in the four corners. Might have to have you trace one so I can get the profile.

Oh I figured I would bring one of the grills with me when I deliver your amps!

One difference is because of the tower "cans" I don't think I want the acrylic ring to extend or "reveal" beyond the grill. Although I could be swayed. Led rings on tower speakers raise a lot of questions.

I agree, my last mock up have mine a little large to accomodate a nice round over, but I'm not sure if I am going to go that route or make them flush with no round over.
