Boat Stuff Steering Bushing 4 Pack Full Length

These are PETG plastic bushings to reduce play in the steering. They are added to the deflector nozzle where the steering rod connects.

Previously I used a set of 5/16 aluminum bushings that I drilled out to fit. This year I switched to this 3D printed design which further reduces the steering play.

Two are needed for installation. The second pair is for future replacement.

This is where the bushings discussion started - Adding bushings to steering deflector nozzle to increase precision (remove slop)

I recommend adding marine grease or silicone grease on all surfaces when you install these. I use a small syringe minus the needle to apply the grease.

Hi Bruce. Ive just ordered by mistake the full length bushings but my 2017 ar210 takes 4 shorties…
Could you change the order pls?

thanks!
Fernando

Sure, I will send shorts instead.

Bruce,

Just ordered the 4 pack. I am getting under the boat today to change the pump oil. will add these next week before i take it out. i feel Yamaha skimped and went the cheap route with the factory bushings.

Pics of 13 year old oem bushings and the new ones installed today.

How long did you have them in?

I know the experience of not being able to find things I ordered. Often I left them somewhere that my wife deemed inappropriate.

Like 15 months ..... one is still good but the other the lip cracked as the yoke is bent a little bit. feel better about replacing both at same time..... I figure about a 24 -36 month replacement cycle as they do wear a little...... did you install with grease or just install?

given how much these tighten up the steering slop....never running without again ;)

Today it took an extra 40 minutes to find where wife moved Yamaha parts box as she cleaned out my usual storage area..... and was helping... was trying to beat storms and was digging for parts lol only needed the new o-rings for the pump caps.

@madtom I install with marine grease inside and out. Not sure how long it lasts but I feel good about it.

As long as the bolt is in place, the lip being cracked shouldn't be a problem, but I understand how the low cost is cheap insurance for peace of mind.

I agree with you, these little bits of plastic are amazing for the results they produce! Thanks again @Bruce
