The official "What did you do to your jet boat today" thread.

A lot of mods and upgrades this spring, but today I installed some small stuff, a Monster Towers Quick disconnect mirror, the VeVe guide post pads, a 100 breaker for the Blue Sea fuse panel and the boats name on the swim platform. Putting it at the marina on Saturday so a few odds and ends to finish.

Installed a Dragonfly 5 and a keel guard.

I spent most of the day on my jet boat in the driveway. I didn't have time last year to do a full detail with the move so it needed it. The boat now looks better than it did even when I bought it with 15 hours on it. Simple Green and a little bit of 3M mold and mildew remover has the seats looking practically brand new. I am amazed.

I sure wish I could figure out how to get the well water spots off of the windshield though. That is driving me crazy.
We have the worst hard water here and the spots were driving me crazy on black Tundra and Benz... this took the spots right off...

Spent the day getting her all cleaned up and ready to go for Memorial Day weekend!

I went solo to a small lake near my house. Just ran around, fished and little and relaxed a lot.

Now I'll spend tonight cleaning it up for family time this weekend... good times for sure!!

Lol, I started doing this many years ago. It is now my normal day. Gotta love making money doing what you like doing!

@Stuntmanmike What is wrong with that engine that resulted in you rebuilding it? Is this what you do for a living?

I finally dropped my boat off at the marina yesterday to start my dry rack service for the summer. After a lot of garage boating in the last month for mods and annual maintenance it will be good to get to the real thing. Let the fun begin!

@buckbuck Yes that's what I do for a living. And that engine was built last winter from two blown engine's that I had a crazy bug to build a jet jon boat. The boat ran great all last year and started burning oil a couple of weeks ago and I didnt want to have it fail on me this summer so out it came. I had access to the engine from an sx230 and just had to get it in my little 16ft jon boat so I could blast up and down the river's around here this summer. And Yes I am a bit Crazy!

Gave it a much needed bath!!

Not exactly today, but over the past 2 weeks.

Updated DB 651 speakers to http://www.jlaudio.com/mx650-ccx-sg-wh-marine-audio-mx-series-speaker-systems-91938
Added http://www.jlaudio.com/m400-4-marine-audio-m-series-amplifiers-98271 to drive the new speakers
Replaced my tower speaker and sub amp with http://www.jlaudio.com/m600-6-marine-audio-m-series-amplifiers-98272
Moved my amps behind helm from battery compartment and ran all new power wires and 12g speaker wire.
Rewired tower to helm side and ran wire inside of tower foot to go directly in to helm
Added navigation light on top of tower decided to go with the Navisafe battery powered and I'm permanently mounting the magnetic base on top of tower. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002RAIXX2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Replacing swim deck latch as soon as it arrives.

The JL amps are great. Ran for over an hour at max volume...and it was loud! Amps were just warm to the touch. Speakers are a big improvement over the DBs.

Not today, but over the past two days I've:

Friday:
Picked it up from the dealer 150 miles away. Immediately got rid of the crappy stock wheels (my old ones were a rusty mess after five years and the new ones already had rust on the back side) and upgraded to Goodyear Endurance Radials. Will try these as they are speed rated for faster than I would want to tow and also are "D" Class over the stock "C".

Saturday:
Let the mods begin: I began trying to sort and organize stuff (took most of the day and I'm still working on it). I had some friends come over and between us, we got:
1) Cobra fins and fangs installed
2) removed those lawyer "don't do this" stickers
3) installed fire extinguishers
4) installed the wake wedge
5) added three small sea deck stickers around the walk through and on the transom
6) installed registration stickers

Today:
the plan is to install the Keel Guard and play some Wax on, Wax off time, as well as put some protectant on the seats.

I've only had time to get a couple pics of it, and that was mostly on Friday while picking it up.1.JPG2.JPG3.JPG4.jpg

Lovely!
Do you have any pics of the wake wedge installed? Are you getting the regular one or the automated?
Not many reports on surfing behind the new 242s. I'm looking forward very much to hearing what you find.

I picked up the one from Garmin on a group buy earlier this spring. I can easily get a pic of it installed as it's one of those items we will only use while surfing.

I'm really curious to try surfing behind the boat next weekend. I'll try surfing with all of the ballast full, plus another 400 on the swim step and then load the 'live weight' into that corner.

I hope it's as fun as everyone says it is.

Oh, it is a TON of fun. Did you surf behind your 2009 232? Very interested in a direct comparison.
