The official "What did you do to your jet boat today" thread.

Installed an amp and 10" Kicker Pro Comp sub. The stock speakers sound so much better with proper power being fed to them.

Took today off work to wrap up the last remaining items on the boat, and hopefully take her out. We had some storms pop up so that didn't happen. Tomorrow is looking better. Installed some trailer guide poles and since we weren't going out hooked up the YDS to see some history on my boat. Come to find out my 10 yr old boat doesn't even have 100 hours yet. That's not even broken in yet in yamaha terms.

Finally got around to lubing my reverse buckets. Those were a pain enough.....not sure I really wanna go at my steering cables. Looking up into the column it looks like a daunting task.

Right side did well at 74 psi and started to get fluid out. It was slow going though. Came out milky and nasty at first then nice and dark purple. I used Royal Purple gear lube 75w-90 since I had it on hand. Left side I cranked it up to 80psi with no fluid movement, 90psi....nothing, then up to 100psi and it finally started to come out. I had to leave to head to the hockey game so I just left the tubes up pressurized.

I mainly did this as my shifters were super stiff, particularly when going into reverse. It wasn't the tensioners either, it was the same with those all the way loose or not. It was so tight that I'd have to jam it down, but sketchy thing with doing that is sometimes in the process I'd floor the gas by accident momentarily.....which for docking you could imagine is not ideal.

These cables are now butter smooth and can move the buckets with just a finger or 2. We'll see how it is when it's all back together. I imagine next season I'll need to replace these. Steering feels fine, but likely need to give those a go. Just really don't wanna mess with them as it looks like an absolute pain.
When you get ready, just replace all four cables.... both reverse and both steering... not a big deal!

@waternutt , no, they retired the last one in 2005.
There is one out in the Arizona Boneyard with my name painted on it.
That airplane took me to 65 countries. If this boat takes me to that many lakes, it will have served a good life!

Spent the morning cleaning my GatorStep flooring with scrubbing bubbles and warm water. Wiped down the haul with Babes and found this idea on instagram. 0CBC835A-5C38-4905-B95D-9529AD459EA7.jpeg8EB2AEF7-D128-4680-8B34-7676C8A3B68D.jpeg7C30BFFB-BFB3-4D5A-ACF9-5D38C2BE5B46.jpeg

Sharp looking! Didn't have those color when I was looking. Damn!
They didn’t when I was looking too, so I got a wrap.

Big day! Picked her up from Stokley’s Marine, and had the first beverage on board. Being in the driveway was not a deterrent!
I realize the name is not obvious to everyone; but if you get it, I want to talk to you!?
I get the name I think. You fly a C141 Starlifter in the service.

Pics of the install / wiring diagram? I'd like to do that to accommodate longer audio time. when I went to fire up the motor the second time it stumbled a bit.

Installed these:

for the maiden voyage tomorrow. I know, I know, I really wanted to try her out “bareback” before installing, but they were the last thing sitting on the bench not installed. I’m sure I won’t be disappointed!

Holy crap! I put 50 hours on mine the first year, which was last year!

Finally finished the VHF install. It's the GX1600 connected to the Garmin 64CV via NMEA 0183.

The placement of the antenna mount allows me to put the mooring cover on with minimal contact.

I was pretty shocked. When I was chatting with the PO doing the paperwork he talked as if they used it all the time. which I guess they could just an hour or 2 at a time.
