I was looking at ordering a new surf rack this weekend and when I searched, there were many questions about tube sizes on various towers, but no concise thread with that information.

Here is what I found, feel free to add if anything is missing or incorrect:
  • All E-series boats - 2 3/8 front and rear and 1 5/16" Bimini tube.
  • All year 242 LS and 212X - 2 3/8"
  • 2014 and older AR240, AR230, AR210 and AR190 - 1 7/8"
  • 2015 and newer AR240 - 2 3/8" front, 1 7/8" rear
  • 2016 and newer AR192 and AR195 - 2 3/8" front, 1 7/8" rear
  • Scarab 215 HOI - 2 3/8"
  • The 1·7/8'' OD rear tubing of my 2019 AR210 tower actually measures 1.925'' (1·37/40''), due to the factory-applied powdercoat on the tower. Therefore, the 1·7/8'' aluminum shims that came with my Monster Tower Swivel Adapters do not fit onto the tubes. I had to order 2'' shims and then build up the tubing size with a few wraps of heavy-duty self-fusing tape.

Great info. One thing that can be confusing is that manufacturers actually use the ID - Internal Diameter of those tubes. So, don't panic if you get your new rack and it says 1.5" or something, it's all good.

Which is bad on them. Pipe is measured by inside diameter, Tubing is measured by outside diameter. Industry standard. If you plan on adding accessories to the tower, you want to know OD. ID is not important unless you are fishing wires inside and then again its not that important. So I do refer to my AR230 tower tubing as 1 7/8", not pipe of some smaller ID. I could have used this thread last year when I mounted my antennas, would have saved a geometric gozinta with Pi.

2007/8 AR230 (and probably others) 1 7/8"

@Bill D added to the FAQ under "parts", what diameter of my tower,

Could we ask you to edit your post to include the other members that respond so the info will be all in the first post,

@scokill He covers that model/yr. in the line "2014 and older AR240, Ar230..."

@Scottintexas I will be happy to add any information to the first post of this thread.

If there is a better way to present that information, I'm open to suggestion. If it would be more useful to break it out by year, then model, then size, I'm good with that. I just wanted to create a single place that all of our members can reference to quickly get the info.

Just got home to measure mine and included pics in my initial post.

@Bill D can you adjust the rear tube dimension on your list for the 2016+ 192/195?

2017 AR210?

I just ordered the dual rod holder for my 2012 242 from Samson Sports. They don't have a 2 3/8 diameter on their drop down menu. They do have a 2 5/8 though. I called them on it and they said the 5/8 is a mistake and is suppose to read 3/8. Just letting you know in case this is a reason someone didn't follow through with a purchase.

Here's some pics of the Dual Rod Holder from Samson Sports. Fits perfectly!

I'm thinking you wanted to post this to @cobolstinks post Check out his recent post.

I was looking at getting this rack. I have a 2019 AR210 as well. Are you saying you ordered the 2" adaptor? I want to make sure I order the right one.

Correct. If your 2019 AR210 has the black powder-coated wakeboard tower, the 1·7/8'' swivel adapter is too small to fit around the rear tubes of the tower.

I recommend that you order the 2'' swivel adapter instead. Wrap self-fusing silicone tape or thin neoprene around the tube so that the clamp of the 2'' swivel adapter will fit tightly.

I recently ordered the Monster swivel rack with the 1 7/8" adaptor and can confirm that it was too small for my tower. I ended up ordering an OEM rack online. Cost me another $100 but I'll be glad to have this mod over with.
