Can anyone confirm that a so called tri jet Yamaha was discussed at the dealer meeting for 2022? Just heard through the rumor mill, probably a hoax.

First I've heard of it.

You’d be a more reliable source. I’m going to chalk it up as a hoax. I think a more powerful engine would be the case before a 3rd motor.

If I was Yamaha looking to put more speed into these boats, I'd be looking at bigger engines and matched bigger pumps. Super charging the same blocks is a lot cheaper than a whole new engine design. That said, Yamaha has a ton of outboard engines they could look to.....up to 350hp....but they are all build vertical....in the boats and skiis they want a lower profile.

Maybe in a 11 foot wide boat. No way three of these engines in a 9foot or under boat
