Looking for some help/information! I have a 2020 195s we bought in July 2020 that needs a GPS antenna, problem is the dealer says they cannot find any available. Again, this morning I spoke with the dealer and they still don't have an estimated ship date. This is a warranty repair as it went out at the start of last season (May 2021). Has anyone ran into this and been able to get a replacement? Could the part number have changed? I thinking I should contact an attorney that practices consumer law! Yamaha is clearly producing new boats that have GPS. I understand COVID has had an impact, but almost a year and still waiting...

Thanks,

Chad

There are a lot of people waiting on parts for 6 months to a year or no parts available for over a year. I would source the part and see how much it costs if you can from a third party, etc. Sueing Yamaha, probably won't get you anywhere but could be option if it is something you want to do, but in the end probably end up with a bill far in excess of what the GPS Antenna costs. In the end it will be supply chain issues and Covid and not much you can do about that.

It's not so much about going to court, just finding out what legal options I have. I also understand the supply chain issues, but if they are producing new boats with GPS, that excuse goes out the door!!! I'm currently looking at all options including 3rd party.

You could just add a chartplotter/fish finder as it will give you GPS speed.
