I store my boat outdoors with the factory cover but open to the elements. Cover was purchased in May, so less than a year old. Assuming it still beads well (will check this weekend) what size DampRid do you recommend for off season storage?

I was thinking of the Hi-Capacity unit placed in the center of the cockpit. But would smaller units placed under the seats work better/last longer? Will any of them last the entire off season or will I need to replace?

Thanks

I've placed several smaller ones thru out the boat in years past.

Also - I apply 303 Fabric Guard (repellant) at the beginning of the season and again towards the end. I apply it to both sides. It works. My cover beads water like it was new.

I put three in my boat and they don't last the winter. Mostly for me it is a way of ensuring that any moisture in the boat when I store it gets absorbed. I'm dabbling with going with inside storage this winter....

haven't used these in the boat yet, but I do in the travel trailer. I put one large in the center, one small in the bathroom area and one in my storage locker. I have to drain and refill the smalls two to three times over the winter depending on temperature and humidity. The large is disposable only. I'd imagine the boat will blow thru damp-rid material quickly if left outside.

I picked up a box of the hanging ones at BJ's (before I new all the options they had) and hung one in the boat a couple of weeks ago. Picked up the boat this past weekend and it was more than 1/2 full. Just wasn't sure if any of the bigger ones would last longer and by how much and same with putting in multiples. I'd hate to open it up every month to switch it out but being as though this will be my 1st off season I will probably be opening it up more often anyway just to check on things. But I did figure it would fill up faster being outside.

Thanks

Hi Mike ! Hope all is well.

Is your boat stored near a power source? I'm not answering your quesiton, But I run light bulbs in my boat to keep it dry and warm, primarily in the engine compartment, but floor mounting a few should work .?.

Hi Eric! It's been awhile.

No power source at my current storage facility. I have been looking for other storage facilities but nothing as close to me as this one in my price range so I will most likely be sticking with this one. Just trying to keep the boat in the best shape possible. Thanks though. I remember you telling me about the bulbs.
