So we were out on Falls Lake this evening and pulled into our favorite cove on the NE Corner of the main part of the lake near Rollingview Marina, we anchored, and went for a swim before we planned to grill dinner, and simply couldn't remain there!!!!!!!!

Any guesses as to why we were forced to move elsewhere?

The water temperature?

green algae invaded from FL ?

Someone (who shall not be named) started construction of a wall across the lake?

@jcyamaharider came by rolling 4k of ballast?

I think someone has been reading my Facebook page too much! Bruce is correct...the water temperature was simply unbearable!!!!

97 DEGREES!!!!!!!!!

We pulled up the anchor and drove to the other side of the lake (the direction the wind was coming from) and found a spot where it was only 93 degrees.....still warm, but at least it was slightly refreshing.....and cooler below the surface (while the first spot was hot pretty deep)!

97!!?
That's crazy!

Wow. 97 would be at least 10 deg too warm.

97 degrees???!!! WTF is right! Wow!

Should of done a bunch of spins to mix up the water like a washing machine!

May not of helped but I always find it very fun!

It was 95 degree water temp on kerr when we were out on saturday.... but we had ride from henderson to Clarksville to eat at the mcd... and then all the way back to the an area... we were ready for the water.... 95 certainly wad cool but it was better than baking...

I couldn't agree more @Julian - that is just way to hot for comfortable use. We had the same thing coming back from the Blue Angels last weekend. The Gulf was comfortable in the mid/high 80s, but in the ICW high 90s... ugh. Just killed the end of the ride - went to get Bushwackers instead :-D

Do the newer boats have engine temp read outs? And does that kinda water temp have any effect on engine temps?

I know what you mean @Julian .... water temp on Table Rock this weekend...92!! First time in a long time that it did not feel refreshing to be in the water!! :arghh:

@Julian now you're just showing off with that fancy new boat of yours ;)

@Julian you may consider a trip up to new england. 80 degree super clean deep lake water in Maine right now. About the warmest it gets up here but will only last for a few weeks.

Yup. Belews was 98 this weekend at our favorite cove. Coldest part of the lake was 92. Warmest (plant exit) - 102!

Wow, warmest water I've seen this summer is 79-80 degree F. (and we've been having one of the driest, warmest summer on record this season)

I honestly had no idea lakes got to temps in the 90s, especially upper 90s. Learn something new every day
