YAMAHA Diagnostic system (Jet Boat - Outboard - Wave Runner)

I received mine today, and for some reason, I cant get it to communicate. Does any one have one, and if so what's the secret to make it communicate.
I did not come with any instructions, just the software and cables.

I think one of my biggest issues to why I cannot connect is I have a six month old boxer. I didn't notice it yesterday but today I realized she has used the cable as a chew toy. I'm not 100% sure if that's my only issue. It's still won't connect, Communication error.

Just saw this posted by @ScarabMike today. The website shows options for Yamaha--- I didn't read far into it but may be another option to YDS.

Getting the driver to take was the issue, once my wife got that figured out she had no issues getting it to connect. I did find out that I'm not using the boat enough only 59 hours on the motors. Thank you Julian for the information on the drivers that is what got us in the right direction.

When I bought the boat in 2011 from the original owner he said it had low hours I just didn't realize how low until yesterday, below is the port engine. We use the boat a lot scalloping up in Steinhatchee Florida. It's a 40 minute ride slow speed until you get to the channel, after that 20 minutes out in the golf to where we park and spend the day swimming fishing scalloping. Now that I just got the boat reupholstered, I feel like I got a leftover 2005.

@MITEASWELL glad you got it figured out. That's got to be the lowest hrs on a boat the vintage. Some guys will do those hours in the first year alone. Congrats

I might have less! I need to check my ecu as I have forgotten how many hours I had before my digital hour meter install.

I thought the newer models had hour meters....??? For codes and such it would work. Ebay is the place.

I know that behind the gauges there is a diag. port/plug.
