Anybody done this or have an interest? I'm starting to plan a trip for 2020 and I know people do this fairly often.

??? All of the post I've read about 19-23' jet boats making this trip but nobody is interested in doing on 11' jetskis? People doing it all the time so I thought it would be great to travel with others and meet some new friends. Our tentative date is first week of June 2020 and we have three skis at this time. Our wives will be taking the ferry over so we'll only need to pack emergency supplies and navigation equipment for the most part.

There's lots of threads (here) on this as well as on YouTube. This venture is NOT to be taken lightly. Lots of prep MUST be done. Do a search...

Yes Sir, been watching all of the youtube vids and obviously agree with the research. That's why we are starting to do some planning this far out but since it is our first time, it sure would be neat to do the crossing with others who have done it before. Thanks for the reply.

There are crossings every year here with members. Don't know of a member doing it on a jetski but probably. Stay in touch with this forum and ask lots of questions. People will chime in. Good luck and keep researching.

Welcome to the forum. :Welcome:

Most people here are doing Ft. Lauderdale to Bimini, not Freeport. 55 miles vs 87 miles may not sound like much of a difference, but if this is your first trip, I would be doing the shorter trip first. You'll learn a lot, perhaps break stuff etc. Then you can decide if the longer haul is worth the risk.
