Any thoughts from your time spent with Yamaha, that they will add integrated wake booster (like the 255xd) in the future to the 255eFSH, since it’s the same e-throttles and engines?
Screen grab from the 255 video doesn't show one.

I doubt that. Most people who seek a CC aren't also trying to wake surf. My guess is they'll offer the manually attached Wake booster only.....but perhaps if there is demand....who knows.

 Why won't they cater to my extremely niche market!

I do love how confused people are at the lake when they see a t top center console go by with a surfer behind it.

Does anyone know the horsepower difference between the 252 & the 255?

The 1.8 naturally aspirated engines should be about 180 HP each (360 HP total) and the supercharged version is said to be 500 HP total.

If I had to choose between the Scarab and Yamaha 25' CC, I would choose the Yamaha, but if I was also choosing between a jet CC and a more traditional outboard powered CC, in a heart beat, I would just go back to an an outboard unless wakesurfing behind a CC was an absolute priority.

1) I like the seating although I am not a fan of their new transom design with the huge step.
2) A 24.5' CC with a 22" draft? Seriously? Meaning, realistically, you need 30+ inches to safely motor around.
3) STILL no standard drive E controls. Still offering the hack wake mode solution for engines with poor throttle control.
4) It has a 111 gal tank because THE SVHO is going to suck gas. The normal 1.8s are going to have great range though! Would be nice if you could get the normal 1.8s with E.
5) Nothing new regarding improved ability to deal/handle grass clogging intakes.
6) Would have been nice if they offered without the hard top
7) Would be interesting a CC with a larger folding top like on the 250 series

It's nice but I would be more inclined to spend the money for a new or used real OB powered center console or bayboat.
I'm on the fence with getting this jet CC vs outboard CC; paying close to 80K for a NEW boat twin engines.. a no brainer but I don't have info on rough water handling is my biggest gripe; buying a used 80K out board with TWINS but not many models with low hours.. and hulls are old...I'm in a conundrum...

Unless you have a particular reason you require twins, in my opinion, gone are the days that you need twins for offshore reliability. Outboards are so reliable these days I would be comfortable with one even very far offshore. Furthermore, boat systems are so interconnected now more than half the failure points serve both engines so twins won’t help you in those cases.

My ultimate sub 28’ CC would be a single Yamaha 425. Best setup for efficiency and ease of service.

What would your definition of rough water be? Having used a jet and an outboard, in my opinion propulsion is propulsion for the most part. Most noticeable differences in handling occur at really slow speed around the dock. That can be made better on a jet with the addition of aftermarket fins on the nozzles. For offshore, the hull is what I think makes a bigger difference in comfort of the ride and ability to handle larger waves. Since these are new hulls, someone needs to get their hands on one and give a report! :)

For what it's worth, I currently have a 210 FSH I take out in the gulf all the time. For me, the limiting factor is the pass I have to go through. Waves there can sometimes be double what they are out in the gulf. 2 feet is fine, 4 ft in a 21 ft boat, regardless of the engine is not fun!

@johnpis Right now no one has a 25' FSH, at least that we know of. They are not supposed to be delivering them any time soon. At the earliest in the next 4-8 weeks. Rumor has it that it may not be till January or February, another member commented the other day. So basically there is not much in the way of real world tests, performance and handling on them. If you are interested in one you could wait it out till there is some concrete first hand owner reviews.

What may be of benefit is that they will have 4" higher freeboard, weigh more, have the bigger engines and have double the size of the gas tank.

Nope....not driven one. But I'd plan on trim tabs to help keep the bow down in rough water.
Same here..trim trab

I think that haulover pass on a bad day would be a good test run for the 255E..if I decide to purchase I'd install the trim tabs, thrust vectors and lateral thrusters....

Keep in mind, used boat market prices right now are crazy high.

You have to decide what are you going to use the boat for the most. This can be tough and emotions can get in the way. Either type boat can be a compromise depending on what you want to do and if you are trying to accommodate multiple priorities. If you only want to wakesurf and hang out on sandbars and never fish, then the FSH is the one, but then what's the point, just get a real wakesurf or bowrider style boat, unless simply looking like a CC is also a high priority, and there are those that like the look of CCs but don't care to fish at all. Are you function over form or form over function? If you just want to fish, you really should just get a real fishing boat. But then what kind of fishing are you going to do? Offshore, inshore, bay, flats?

And then for those that want to do some of both. I don't care at all about wakesurfing but we do hang out a lot on sandbars, snorkelling, etc and I want to fish, and so my family is torn. If I was purchasing today, it's mostly narrowed down to either a Regal 26OBX or a Nauticstar 251 hybrid (maybe a Caymas 26HB).
