12 Volt Vacuum

I don't use a vac, but a leaf blower. Works like a champ, plus I use it on the hull and trailer to blow any excess water off. Trick I learned from the car detailing forums for drying the car after you've washed it. Really helps cut down on water spots.

We often have other family's with younger kids on the boat with us and we like to eat evening meals on the boat. My only rule (other than no shoes) is no food that crumbles. Stuff like cheesits, chips, cheetos is not allowed. I'm probably being to anal about it but there is nothing I hate more than cleaning up soggy orange crums from all the cracks and crannies of my boat. (yes I'm a little scarred from past incidents)

X2 on the Dewalt. 18 volt has more suction power and has the most favorable reviews on amazon. Comes with a battery and charger. My next amazon purchase :)

Before y'all get your panties in a bunch, I'll have you know that there was nothing at all sexist, misogynistic or mean about my reply.

My wife likes to keep things clean....not a clean freak, but as we all do, she has her own preferences about how she likes things to be. One of those things is the cockpit of the boat - don't ask me why. I'll be wandering around on shore, playing horse shoes or just hanging out and I'll look over and see her in the boat cleaning. Especially after one of the kids or grandkids has been in there snackin' on sumpthin'. She'll wipe down the whole floor with paper towels and windex or whatever is handy. Maybe it's the white that shows up the crumbs. I don't know.

Maybe she enjoys it, who knows. I don't ask her to do it, she just does. And frankly I'm glad she does...

...cuz that's wimmin's work!
Oh man @Glassman, I'm glad you came over from the dark side, or did they send you here to make us laugh so hard we couldn't get anything done?

The only thing I want sucking on my boat is me on a beer. I got a small corded vac that I use when I'm OFF the water.

x2 on the leaf blower for my boat and the car (black...). It doesn't suck

Ha Ha!! That baby is hillllarious. And you'd have to work a helluva lot harder than that to offend me. I can't speak for some of the other nancies out there. I just thought it was the funniest post I saw yesterday. Simple and hysterical - no disclaimer necessary.

I tried a vac for a while, but a leaf blower is so much easier. No crumbs, crunches, or sand/dirt stands a chance against air moving at 120+ Mph!

LOVE the leaf blower option to dry the boat off some when I have to put it back in a hurry!! Great idea - can't believe it never even occurred. First awesome tidbit on the new forum. Yeehah.

Not a fan of battery powered vac's. I use a small Craftsman shop vac when we are through for the day.

Nice to have someone on board who shares my sense of humor!

However, I have been known to type before I think....I'll read the title of the thread and reply in my mind instantly....fortunately I can catch myself before I commit to anything really outrageous or stoopid.
Actually, my kids have a pet name for me...did you know that Brad Pitt is my long lost brother? Yep, my name at birth was Stu.

My daughter's cell phone pic for me.

Resurrecting this thread. My boat stays in a slip, so a portable hand vac would be ideal - Either 12v or cordless. Anyone have a decent one they are currently using?

I saw a review on an rv show of the hand held dyson that is battery powered. Both reviewers loved it but only one owned one because they cost closer to $200. As it turns out a friend of my owns one and she loves it.

Still using my Dewalt pictured above. Works great.

I have a Dewalt vac that uses the same 20V batteries as my drill and such. It works good. I also have the handheld Dyson in the house. It works great, but after nearly 6 years, the battery has started to go. If you already own power tools that use cordless batteries, the vacuum to match is a good value. If you need something entirely new, the Dyson is awesome.

I use a Dewalt 18v vacuum after every trip. The battery will do my 21 foot boat. And I normally have a spare in my tow vehicle too.
I have a 20 vdc vac, that thing is the &hiT, We use it all the time,
