2014 tango

Is it the same company or a new company using the name?

Looks like a small, fun boat!

Not sure who is behind it,I believe its a new owner. Being built in Wyoming,MN. Earlier Tangos were 17 ft and 1400 lbs if I remember correctly. This one has a 200 hp Merc Optimax.

Very early ski-d00 and exciter-ish...... I miss my old exciter....the boat too!

They do look like an Exciter. Not sure when the design first came out, late 90's at least and were never changed much. I suspect this is from old SS molds with new graphics. All the earlier SS,s like my Mirage, had hand laid hulls, was always a fairly small operation

Not a lot of info on their website, but there are a few different features I really like with the SugarSands.

Great looking swim platform

Clean dash lines

Wait...there was a boat in those pictures.....o_O

That is great news! Glad I stumbled on this! I hope they come back.

I had a 03 Tango Extreme. 17', 240hp 2 stroke. Absolutely insane performance... if you wanted, could turn so hard that people can't hang on and fly overboard. And submarine moves were intense. It would be very cool to see them make a comeback.

@spatty99 I would agree with everything you say!

LOL..I was gonna say...Come on, you guys aren't looking at the boat! ;)

Model was pretty hot :)

Exterior lines of the boat look cool too.

Sorry to sound like a snob but I never really considered those boats

Wouldn't say snobbish just an opinion, will agree the Sting she is sitting on in the first shot is pushing it to call it a boat.Don't know why they came out with that thing. Can't remember the length but it was tiny.Powered by a German Weber engine, four stroke I think. Dash in second pic looks like a Mirage, 18 footers all Optimax powered after about 06. The Tangos are 17 footers, the older pre 06 240 will knock up against 60mph and they also built a couple models , Calai and Oasis in the 21 ft range

It is all in the seating arrangement for me. They had basically the same boat, with different arrangements of the seats. The Sugar Sand I had was called the 4+2. I liked that arrangement the best. Here are some pics. You can't really see how the seats are arranged in my pics, but it makes the boat appear different, even though it is basically the same boat. With the 4+2 seating configuration, you got dual consoles which made the boat look better, in my opinion.

The Sugar Sand I had was very light!

@Bilmon Is that the SugarSand fb page or the SugarSand owners page.....alI found was owners. Would be nice to contact them for info and parts and see if they will help on older boats like mine. I would REALLY like to get a windshield like that!
