2015 or newer ... considering upgrading the deck drain flap valve, aka scupper?

Has anybody with a 2015 AR240 or limited replaced the plastic scupper with brass or ss one? Mine was leaking and if I'm going to take it apart to reseal it, I think it would be a good time to upgrade it.

If you are taking it out to reseal you might as well replace it with something with greater longetivity.

I have not heard of anyone replacing the scupper on newer models since they are above the water line.

I wonder if the 242X scupper is still above the waterline when the ballast is filled.....hummmm....something perhaps I'll learn soon!

Above the water line... Mine leaked between the hull and the fitting, which found its way to the bilge. Being higher placed on the transom is definitely better but it is low enough to take on water.

It's right on the water line @Bruce with any slight wave motion the scupper will fill the boat if it's leaking.

I stopped the leak for now by using a little bead of 3M 5200 around the outer flange on the outside of the boat. Here's a pic of the leak prior to the quick fix. The white residue is probably proof that it was leaking when I had the boat in salt water (Bimini trip):
