Battery issue
New to the forum and new owner of a used 2017 242X. Total 100 hrs on boat.
Since I purchased the boat I have gotten the low battery warning alarm each weekend I have used it. I have been keeping it inside with aftermarket trickle charger on it since after the 1st issue.
I get about 6 hrs of normal use before the alarm. Volts show on dash about 12.4 at start of each trip. Both drop to about 9.5 and alarm sounds. I am doing what I would consider lite to normal use of running boat, stereo on, no lights or bilge. Ballast pumps 1 complete fill and 1 dump. Stereo running, mild volume. Once the alarm sounds I turn off stereo and bolts raise about 1.0 amps ( from like 9.5 to 10.5)

I believe original Interstate batteries.
I have had batteries tested at two different auto parts stores. Both tell me they are fine at 750 cca. Fluid level is full.
Have checked and rechecked cable wiring. All seems to be according to diagram. Terminals clean.

Here is a picture of my “system” screen. Does it look normal?
Why do both batteries drop at about the same level? Isn’t one supposed to be just starting? My parallel switch is in the off position.

Any ideas on what to check next? I have searched the forum but haven’t found a similar issue.

Thank you

12.4 volts is between 70% and 80% charged, less if you just removed the charger as the surface charge hasn't dissipated yet.

First of all welcome to the forum @Westtodd . Great explaination of your issue. If all your connections are clean and tight, including your grounds both at the battery and on the engine I would wonder if both your stators are giving you a proper charge. What position is your battery switch in while running?

The 12.4 is what the Connect screen says when I start. Trickle charger shows full change light. I believe when I checked it with a volt meter it showed in the14.?

Battery switches are both set to on.

Does the Stator show up on the ‘system’ screen? Maybe that is the ‘ADU inputs’ #1 shows 5.194. #2 shows 0.00. So only one is working?

But why do both batteries discharge equally?

My start battery drains when floating. Haven't had the time to figure it out

If you remove your ground lead, set your meter to DC amps and then hook it up in series between ground lead and NEG battery post you should be able to see if you have any key off drains. I would do this with everything off as most meters can only handle 10A before it will blow its internal fuse. If you have a key off drain you can then start pulling fuses one at a time until the Amp draw disappears. Now you at least know the offending circuit that's using current when everything is off.

That's how I chase key off drains anyways.

The Connext screen is showing the house battery voltage for both batteries. The starting battery voltage isn't shown anywhere. Read this thread all the way through: (It's long, but there's good information throughout the thread.) https://jetboaters.net/threads/fix-for-connext-battery-voltage-issue-confirmed.11381/

If your voltage readings on Connext are showing voltage below 12.8 while the engines are running at cruise, your house battery is not being charged. It should read about 14 to 14.3 at cruise. My 2017 AR240 has the same issue. I've narrowed it down to the DVSR is not working as intended. The easy fix is to parallel the batteries after start, and isolate before or just after shutdown. That's what the DVSR is supposed to do anyway... I'll investigate further next time I do a maintenance day. This thread will help you with what the DVSR is supposed to do, and how to improve on it. https://jetboaters.net/threads/making-dvsr-active-with-engines-on-only.9798/

Good luck!
