There it is folks, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow today so six more weeks of wintah! Use this time well to get prepped for the coming season! Take the day to appreciate the great movie Ground Hog Day…

Other than that punk groundhog predicting the rest of winter…lol… We’ve had the weirdest winter that I can remember. We haven’t seen any accumulating snowfall yet. I’m not complaining, but we could use the moisture at some point! I’m sure as soon as I put the shovel and ice melt away it will snow. Forecast looks like we will get through more than half of February in the mid 30s with low chances of moisture.

La Niña years can be weird… typically La Niña years are drier. We are short on snowfall here so far but March and April are the snow months here so still plenty of time to get some water in the lakes. This will just give you more time to dial in your new boat with the necessaries before boating season begins!

Jimmy the Groundhog in WI didn’t see his shadow, so we get an early spring. Today is 46* & cloudy with no snow for as far as you can see. In a “normal” season, we see about 52”. This year’s been less than 11”. Another weird winter.

Last week was highs in the mid to upper 50’s with overnight lows in the upper 20’s to low 30’s… ice age meltdown. But the weather being what it is, it changed back to more typical winter conditions. I refilled my wood box on the porch so am good to go for the wintry weather this coming month as Jan-Feb are the coldest months here.. BUT!! The days are noticeably longer and pretty soon the big thermonuclear furnace in the sky will be melting the snow as fast it falls…

F... that shit. Winter i why I mvoed to Florida...

LMAO… but in the last 10 yrs, Phil has been right 80% of the time compared to Jimmy’s 20%. Not sure who to believe anymore, but pretty sure that I won’t be picking up my boat yet this week…

You laugh now, but I’ll be enjoying 80* temps in 6 months! Won’t even have to bother putting ice in the cooler. No… that’s not right, we’ll still need ice but we’ll still be chilling.

Saturday started with a frost delay until 9:00, so I tee'd off t around 10:20, with shorts, golf shirt and jacket, and a beanie. By the 5th hole no beanie, jacket went to vest. By hole 10, no vest, and by hole 13-14 a slight sweat has started! Crazy. Sunday, 9:00 am tee time, shorts , vest, hat, and by hole 7-8 the vest was off. I think today it's supposed to be low 80's!! As a golfer this start to Feb. is just amazing!

I think I'm safe
