Joel Begin Boat Crash at Lake of the Ozarks Shootout
The driver was fine, however the throttleman is still in the hospital. Thankfully, he's in stable condition and expected to survive.

Wow....that thing got some serious lift....must have been 15-20 feet in the air!.....they are very lucky they landed right side up!

WOW. Hard to believe that anybody could survive a crash like that. They dodged a bullet for sure!!!

Another view of the crash

Incredible. The deceleration when they came down and planted back in the water must have been VERY high!

Hopefully both have a full recovery. Scary.

Happy they both survived. G forces, as said above, must have been really high. With the speed, and hull shape/aerodynamics of these boats I am surprised this does not happen all the time.

WOW...I'm not sure the seats/belts are designed to see high g forces in that direction. I would not have been surprised if they were both killed. Prayers for these guys for sure.

Wow, glad to hear they survived and glad that no one nearby was caught up in that. Imagine going for a day cruise and having that land one you?

Holy cow. Surviving that one simply meant your number wasn't up yet!

What amazes me is the way it "skipped" off the water after the bow dug in.

Now I see from that angle they DIDN'T land right side up, but upside down, then rolled right side up! Holy Crap that must have been one heck of an impact!

The Throttle Man Mike Fiore did not survive this accident. Mike was the founder of outerlimits powerboats and passed away due to complications during surgery. From the accident report it is listed as being caused by wind interference.

Sad news. Sorry to hear this.

The top speed boat almost did not run after this crash. Obviously this shook the go fast community. Such a sad day.
