Hi all.
I am a new and proud owner of a 2016 190FSH. Hello everyone!
My first question is about the anchor. The original owner, who I bought it from, did not have the OEM anchor. I would like to get the OEM one so it fits and mounts right in the compartment. The OEM Yamaha one is 200 bucakroos. Eek! It seems to be a Danforth style. Has anyone found an aftermarket one that fits in the compartment correctly? Or does someone have the measurements? Or am I stuck forking over a stack of cash for the OEM one? :) Thanks all.

The thing to consider here is what type of bottom are you anchoring in? The stock anchor may be undersized if the wind blows more than a few knots. Rocks? Sand? Mud? Kelp?

Some people have purchased a Danforth style anchor and shortened the stock to fit.

I use a 9lb Delta with 12ft chain for most bottoms. We anchor overnight without worries.

FYI. I found the Seachoise sliding ring fluke anchor that came with our Yamaha to be a piece of bottom trash that would not hold in any kind of weedy bottom, more than once. I bought an 8# West Marine Danforth style for out 07 AR230. I did modify the stock to fit into the hanger. The original Seachoise was put to stern anchor duty. Never dragged again.
Make sure you have 5-6 feet of galv. chain between the nylon rode and the anchor.

Wow, 9# Delta on a 19' boat? First I have heard of those used on these boats. That thing will hook up. I put a 22# Delta on a 35' sailboat

Fortress FX-7 works great on my FSH210 it’s aluminum only weighs about 4 pounds I think you have to cut 3/8 of an inch off on a post going across for it to fit into the anchor locker. I ordered four or 6 feet of stainless chain and a stainless Clevis and 300 feet a half inch rope it all fit in the anchor locker and has not failed. Good for about 50’ of depth with a 6 to 1 ratio.

I might have to invest in some of that chain. I already have the FX-7. I will never need 300 ft of line. Hopefully. Thanks for posting.

The chain is definitely going to help you when setting anchor. Get some safety wire if you're adding the chain, you'll appreciate it if you ever have to replace a lost anchor ?

Yes, I have SS safety wire. It’s tough AS too. Also, I just ordered 5 ft of 5/16 SS chain and the shackles come with some sort of safety device. I have 2 anchors so I need another rode, but not 300 feet. Thank you

This is the first anchor I bought. I used it in my local lakes with great success. It is now my stern / shore anchor.

This is the second anchor I bought, just needed to trim a little off each side to fit in the hangers. This anchor along with 20’ of 5/16“ stainless steel chain held firm in some pretty big wind at Lake Powell last summer. I’m glad I had this set up over my original 5# anchor.

250’ of rode.

This is the first chain I bought. 1/4” by 4’. I have since upgraded to 20’ of 5/16”, the rule of thumb for chain length is 1’ of chain for every foot of hull length.
