Was thinking about the fact that I now have 2 table legs....one for when I bbq in the stern. But there are plenty of other times I could use a table in the bow.

Anyone add a bracket to the bow area? Got any photos?

@Julian - I have thought about this as well. My best thought would be to mount it to the face of that little step like thing right up front. Please tag me and post pics if you do.

I was thinking the same thing. I will have to do some "practice" placements to see if the angle is right and if the table would be in a good spot. I'll definitely tag you if I do this (which I'm pretty sure I will).

Sounds like a good area.

@Julian Did you ever add the table in the bow? I definitely need to add one .

I just had mine at Chatlee and asked them about putting a stock table mount in the bow and they didn’t recommend a good location. I thought it would be cool to put one under front step but apparently difficult (impossible) to get behind there.

That's what I was afraid of. I'm thinking of adding a pedestal mount in the decking with something like this:

I have thought about it for my 242 and did it on the 230 i previously owned. For the 242 i believe the mount is made by hamilton and can be sourced directly for about $75 (v. $125/$150 if ordered from yamahasportsplaza. I would mount it to the side of a bow compartment or the top side of the bow step for access to the nuts/bolt ends.

For the 230 just be sure to account for the ski locker which may have its own ceiling/shell. This is especially true if the mount extends beyond the surface. Also realize that you carpet or seadek may need to be modified to accomofatr the mount.

I was thinking about in the bow step....if access there isn't possible....putting it on one side or the other would work too (as in the stern).
I'm out of commission currently but once I'm on my feet again I'll check it out. My fear is that since the bow is more narrow that it would not be centered. Seems the leg would need some modification.

Just wanted to bump this thread to see if anyone else has done this yet? I was kicking around the idea of ordering the table kit from Yamaha, but not sure if the curve on the bow seats is too severe to accomodate the mount.

I just installed this. Got the kit from amazon and happy with the results. The Yamaha side mount just wouldn’t work IMO.

I assume the area you drilled for the plate is accessible from the ski locker below? Did you use a backer or just screws into the decking? Super slick looking, btw.
Correct, I backed it with large flat washers and lock washers. It’s a bit tight in there but doable.

Did you try the side mount? I ordered the Garelick side mount, and now that I’m holding it in place the slope is way off. Now that I’m comparing to the stock mount point, I see that there is a mount plate “spacer” that I’ve never noticed before. The wife is concerned that even with that spacer, it will still be way off.

I had my 7 year old climb in the ski locker. He crawled all the way to the front and was able to reach up and knock on the inside of that step. Before I start drilling holes I'm going to have him take my phone in there and take pictures, or make my wife verify. I sure as heck can't fit in there.

I seem to remember @Drift Away and @wallacerb cut big honkin holes in that step for speakers, and if I remember right, they said something in their video about having to cut holes through 2 different surfaces. I'm thinking that was the outer step fiberglass, and the inside of the anchor locker that feels more like plastic than fiberglass. I wonder if they happened to look down before installing the speakers to see if they could see into the ski locker.

No one has figured this out?
I just ordered the spacer/shim from partzilla. They had it about $10-15 cheaper than anywhere else I could find it. I'm determined to make this work. LOL!

Well, I found my own info. In the video, they are actually cutting holes in the step above where I want. But, they dropped a piece and were able to retrieve it from the ski locker... so there must be away to reach up there, if you’re small enough.

Here’s a pic and the video.
