Well, Ive had enough of the issues with all manufacturer's supercharged engines, the need for premium fuel, and having to fuel up multiple times in a day of riding.

I considered the new 2018 Seadoo lineup, but the 155 lacks a ton of power, and the small fuel tank is useless for the type of riding I do. I can put up to 100 hours of riding in a year. So my choice was hard, but in the end obvious. The VX Cruiser HO.

The only difference between this and the VXR is this one has cruise control and no wake, and the VXR doesnt, but it has trim.

The NA 1.8 engine is awesome, trouble free, very efficient, and can take the ski up to 66mph.

Huh! I can totally see the logic, and coming from someone like you - knowing both Yamaha and the competition well, this is very informative!

Those Yamaha N/A drivetrains are hard to beat, OVERALL.

That's awesome, congrats. 66 mph is simply crazy. But in a good way of course ;)

Was the ACE giving you issues? Seemed to do well for ya for awhile there?

The ACE engine is solid. The problem with that ski is fuel capacity. It is very thirsty. When I ride the ski, I go far and not fast. My group is all about just getting away. I was having to keep a gas can strapped to the rear every time, and still filled up on the water. Plus that engine runs better on Premium. The SVHO engine has soo many issues that I just didn't want another SC. So I got the fastest NA ski, and this thing is a rocket. I love it.

The VXR was #1 on my list til I stole the 11' VX Cruiser I found. Congrats on the new ride.

Cool, remember for long rides with no hand fatigue add the JEFF CRUISE to your throttle and who knows with that added you may even find yourself standing on the seat cruising hands free or driving with your feet, LOL

@ScarabMike , How is this different from the fx lineup? Does it have cruise control and / or a finger operated throttle like brake/reverse similar to some seadoos? I assume it has an 18.5 gallon tank and that it burns gas just as fast as an mr1 powered previous generation fx. I ask because there is a 2012 vx for sale locally here for $6500 with trailer but it doesnt look anything like your vx.

The VX was completely redesigned in 2015 I believe to this new hull. It is now the same hull that's on the GP1800. The VX is smaller than the FX, and you can get it in many variants with different options, engines, and colors. Most of the lineup has the TR-1 3 cyl engine. In my opinion, its way underpowered to be efficient. (Models VX, VX Limited, and VX deluxe), then there are the 2 variants with the 1.8ltr that just hums along, and will fly if you push it on this small ski. (VXR, and VX Cruiser HO) Then there is the big dog variant with the SVHO. The GP1800.

Now here is the kicker (Thanks Yamaha) You can only have trim on the VXR, and the GP1800 but no cruise, or you can have cruise on the VX Cruiser HO, but no trim. I never use trim anyway. Also the Cruiser has the stadium seating, where the rest of the lineup has the regular seats.

The FX has trim and Cruise. But you can only get the stadium seats on the FX Cruiser. The FX also comes in 1.8ltr or SVHO engines.

The VX Cruiser HO like mine was 11299, the FX with similar options was about 2k more.

I hope this helps.
